In my opinion Alistair Cook is a much better captain than Punter. Clarke is the best captain I have seen in my time, and I was very disappointed when he was appointed.

I would say Mark Taylor has been our best in my lifetime, followed by Clarke, then Waugh, then Punter. (was probably too young to critique Border).
Taylor was a genius at the caper.

I love Tugga but he did have some of the greatest players of aaaalllllll time during their peak years at his disposal. A pumpkin could have led the likes of Haydos, Gilly, McGrath and Warne.

Clarke has had lesser talents during his helm and has had to be much more creative when leveraging the important moments in matches. He never lets things wander aimlessly.
