Re: The World Cup Thread.
Big night tonight. Italy v Uruguay to get the last place in the round of 16 - I wonder if Italy will park the bus and try and hold on for the draw as they have the GD advantage over Uruguay?
Greece on last chance saloon against Ivory Coast as well - not without a chance but will have to develop a better killer instinct in the front 1/3rdComment

Re: The World Cup Thread.
Greece very courageous this morning. We had a shocker in the first match, then survived 75 minutes with 10 men to hold on against Japan, and then we blunted the attacking strength of the Ivory Coast to get the win today. Penalty was definitely there - Samaras was clipped just before taking his shot. Reckon we were good value for the win today - hit the post twice, created more chances than the Ivory Coast, who looked a little nervous tonight.
Draw opens up with Costa Rica our opponents in the round of 16 - you could have written your own ticket of that match-up coming to fruition at the start of the tournament."Look at me mate. Look at me. I'm flyin'"Comment

Re: The World Cup Thread.
It looks like he has gone for a headbut? But his Big Buck teeth have got in the way, It's not as clear as Ivanovich which was more of a ragdoll
bite. It doesn't look like he has clamped down with both jaws, almost pressed the top teeth into the shoulder? The picks show a mark of one set of teeth not two?
I've been a staunch supporter of him, but I'm shaking my head this time. I'm just not sure what he was trying to do. The decision will be interesting and if there is any ban I would hope it's just International it shouldn't have anything to do with a Red shirt.
Everytime he has wanted to change clubs he has gone this way so maybe all the talk is true. I've always followed the money and Sportsbets odds dived 3 days ago so if it's still on the table?

Re: The World Cup Thread.
He's a boofhead, such a silly thing to do considering he has form.
I love the reactions of each player though, neither was going to be outdone by the other.
Can always count on the FIFA World Cup to highlight what I find so good and so abhorrent about international football.TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

Re: The World Cup Thread.
I read somewhere once that biting during a sporting contest-especially when under severe pressure or at a vital stage of the game/contest-is a type of epileptic fit. Apparently the biter just forgets what they are doing and where they are and bites someone as a reaction to the stress. They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.Comment

If you can't beat them, eat them.
