I must admit I am glad that every second week Geelong have to answer a please explain from the AFL about Bailey Smith.

As Caroline Wilson said Bailey does not take well to being disciplined or pulled into line. Geelong will never discipline. him directly they will always use the AFL as the shield.

It's difficult not to be cynical with this guy. He's been creeping closer to really pissing the league and his employer off for weeks now........

With respect to his comments around timing of training away from the group and his divergence from the club in rehabilitation, they're absolute bullshit. He chose an alternative surgeon and rehabilitation profile based on management and seemingly future club advice. He did not follow our program from day one.

That he's gone is what it is. The lying through his teeth is what pisses me off.

Yeah after the initial shock of losing him I've always loved Cal. That second house was way to tempting and I'd have done the same thing if I was him.

Given where he went, and regardless of our poor management’s contribution to him leaving, I can’t say I am sad he leaves the game without any significant team success.

Dogs fans and players were very generous (too generous) with him, personally, I didn’t appreciate his role in the lost dogs home jibes etc. His jaw breaking and opening up a pathway to the flag for us was his greatest contribution to the game.

I am a polar opposite here. Ward has been such an honest competitor and all round great bloke IMO- I just can't hate the guy. Also, we had a chance to keep him- so there is all that.

If GWS won the flag this year, Ward getting one would have been the part I was most ok with.

The "Lost Dogs" stuff was ok with me. This was coming from a team with no real rivalries at the time, no real interest, no real identity- them grabbing on to a thread that brought an extra interest to a game was what they needed to do.
