Just saw Cal Ward in Yarraville waiting in queue with a babe in his arms. I tapped him on shoulder and congratulated him on great career & that it would be wonderful if he took role to help doggies. He smiled & said thanks.

Cal is a rather nice looking chap, so young!!

About 8 years ago he must have been visiting friends in Williamstown area and my mate was kicking his footy with his son in the park and had a doggies jumper on. Cal was walking past and suddenly asked if he could join in for a kick. They had a good chat with him afterwards and my mate mentioned what a great bloke he is.

Had had stayed would we have finished so low the year we used his compensation pick to get Macrae? I'm not even mentioning what happened in the prelim.
I think the story is very good without him.

Just a thought on Macrae , Daniel and Smith going .
we might have been a little upset when it happened but now I think using Freijah , Kennedy and O’Donnell coming on, I think we are better .
The Smith loss was the most disappointing and he has been very good at Geelong but I actually think Kennedy has given more value .
Daniel and Macrae haven’t been dangerous and will just die off as they get older .
I think it has worked out a great move with all three replacements .
Obviously the club had decided to start to rebuild last year.

It's a contrast to Macrae for sure because Macrae was a reluctant goal kicker.
Kennedy has been a genuine positive for us.
