Seriously, I get that the father son rule can skew the draft. It can give a leg up to teams that are already on the up, but I think that to lose it takes away a bit of romance and nostalgia in the game.
Do you really want to see a Daicos running around in a WCE top; or the Bont's son running around in a Richmond Jersey?
They tinkered with the system so you have to give something up to get the FS's in and I think that makes it fairer as you still have to give up to get. Maybe they could push the eligibility from 100 games to 150 games. How many games does it take to achieve legend status?Comment

People also forget the penalty clubs like ours take on for landing FS/Academy selections. You only need to look at our dearth of quality role players at the moment to understand we've had insufficient capital to find quality in the second to fourth rounds - because in those zones of the draft or trading you need picks which we haven't had.
Now we could have foregone Darcy and JUH, or Croft etc., but could you imagine the pillorying we'd have copped if we did?TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.Comment

I'm 50/50 about father son picks. The draft shouldn't be as compromised as it is nor should it be about assembling points to match picks.
Sure fans have ties too famous club names but why should those kids be put to the front of the queue?Comment

I’m all for keeping access to father sons and Academy players but you shouldn’t be able to stack crap picks to pay for them. You should have to use a pick in the round the bid comes. If you have 2 in the first round then you should have to trade in another first round pick to get them.Comment

Former AFL listed ruckman Luke Goetz must have a sore hand. According to Premier Data, the Bacchus Marsh ruckman recorded a whopping 112 hit-outs in his side’s 17-point Ballarat league loss to arch-rivals Darley. The stats say 27 were to advantage. It’s the second most record by the stats provider, seven off the best.
