Neither West Coast or Fremantle have a urgent need for a key defender and his injury history is a big alarm for any club.
Will be interesting to see what we do with him.
What would you pay to bring him into our club?
Can't get on the park, and for all intents and purposes can only defend well when the conditions around set up are favourable.
Whilst his good has been excellent, it's been extremely few and far between and his bad has been really ordinary. The only value we'll get out of him in my view, is through trade additions rather than stand alone trade curency.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
If we got Billings won't we just be swapping one player who can't kick to a target or at goal (Dahlhaus) with a player that has pretty much the same skill set?
What is it with us? Is it compolsoury for us to have players that can't kick in the team? Is it written in the club's constitution or something...
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
I hope the Jarryd Roughead rumours are false - he's cooked.
Agreed.
The idea of it sounds great but he's got very little in the tank.
If we want a mature KPF then I'd rather enquire about Levi - but I'd actually rather just develop Boyd as our FF.

Can't argue with any of that jeemak.
His best is elite but we don't see it because he's either injured or coming back from a long layoff and struggling with form.
We might be able to get a future third round pick or something to that effect, but more likely he'd only be part of a pick upgrade.

I'm inclined to agree here.
There might be an element of mismanagement by the Saints at play but I just don't get the Billings hype.

I think the goal kicking is salvageable - he's an outstanding field kick which no one would ever accuse Dahl of.
And even if it isn't, he still would bring a lot to the side; a fair chunk of his game is distribution and shot creation. He's on the level with Greene and De Goey for dangerous half forwards if he even gets his set shots to 50%.
I used to not rate him as much as anyone right up until he beat us by himself a couple of years ago, after which point I've taken a particular interest in him. He has the whole package notwithstanding his goal kicking, which creates a great amount of statistical noise which is admittedly hard to look past. But if we could get him for the Dahl compo I wouldn't hesitate.

Billings could and really should be a better version of Lachie Hunter, however, given where he's being played and what I suspect is a lack of confidence/belief/etc, Hunter has been the better player of the two so far through their careers.

The game as a club we collectively dropped our bundle, arguably because of how upset the group was to see Clay do his third ACL?
He's an elite field kick when under no pressure - in the last two nights we've seen what happens to teams when players can't cope with pressure.
I think the cost vs benefit of Billings will be too high for us to be worth trading him in for. Townsend will be cheaper and perhaps his absolute ceiling won;t be as high but we know he can perform under pressure.

I don't think you can really accuse him of not being able to handle the pressure without giving him the chance to perform under it. I really believe he's being dragged down by having to play under a rubbish coach on a bad team, and would be much better off outside of the Saints. His back half of last season and patches this year were exceptional so it's not just based on one game.
I don't rate Townsend.

So Preuss apparently wants to go to the Demons, which if true makes absolutely no sense but whatever.
The best they can offer is Pick 32 but will likely try to go with less. I honestly have no idea why we don't seem to be interested and we can surely trump any Dees offer.
