Re: Early Trade Rumours for 2022

For for a sanity check for everyone, myself included.

Yes, Dunkley hasn't been traded. But...

    Jackson hasn't been traded.
    Bowe hasn't been traded.
    Hopper hasn't been traded.
    Bruhn hasn't been traded.
    JHF hasn't been traded.
    Grundy hasn't been traded.
    Frampton hasn't been traded.
    Rankine hasn't been traded.
    Henry hasn't been traded.
    Rioli hasn't been traded.
    Fiorini hasn't been traded.
    Gunston hasn't been traded.
    Lobb hasn't been traded.
    Dow hasn't been traded.
    Meek hasn't been traded.
    Hayne hasn't been traded.
    Whitfield hasn't been traded.

Pretty much everyone mentioned as a possible or probable trade, hasn't been traded. Dunkley is just one of the long list of players not yet traded. Plenty of time, and plenty of trades coming up.

The Giants are keen to offload Nick Haynes - might we have interest? He's been a brilliant player over the years. Might be over the hill now, but if we can extract one or two good years out of him he'd be exactly the roaming interceptor type that we've been crying out for. Bring on the Dad's Army backline!

No, no and no. His body is in as good as shape as Alex Keath.

2 or 3 years ago he would have been highly sort after but unfortunately his form has dropped back a bit and he's not the athletic player he once was.
I don't normally get hung up on the age of a player but bringing in another 30yo on top of Jones given we also have some question marks on Keath would not be ideal either. Haynes is also highly paid which wouldn't be a good use of our cap.

If we were a top 4 side it might make more sense to load up but I'd prefer we look elsewhere.

Look fair enough, to be honest I haven't been keeping close tabs on him and looking at his stats sheet this year, he has dropped away.

Perhaps Darcy can play a full season as the third tall intercept player down back.

I see Hopper is potentially being traded for pick 31, Richmond's future 1st and Ivan Soldo.

Again, a superior trade for an equivalent player.

                      I'd argue inferior.

Good on Richmond for getting things done. They're a good club for many reasons.

I think Hopper is generally underrated - was in the AA squad last year and injured most of this year. I do think Dunkley should be worth more but thought I might be biased so went with equivalent.

Regardless, it's a good deal - I would take that for Dunkley.

                          Do you rate Soldo JD?

I haven't seen a lot of him so have little insight.

The real questions you need to ask GG are what is Soldo worth draft points wise and what is his pressure acts per game.

I think Soldo is better than their current ruckmen and clear best 22. Before his knee injury he was close to keeping Nankervis out of the side at Richmond. He was a good option for us to chase last year and should have piqued our interest again this year.
