Luck matters.

Zaine Cordy's knee and Buddy's rolled ankle sure helped Bevo a lot in 2016. You need to be a good enough coach to get your team in the position to get that chance first. Ross can at least do that. He's done it at two clubs so that shows it wasn't a list anomaly that got him there.

Agree, I don't think that 2016 side was extraordinary but they did extraordinary things, with a slice of luck.

I rate Ross' work at Freo as his best. I think he can coach, I just think he's from an era of management that is no longer effective.

Leaving Luke Ball on the bench for the whole of the last quarter did more to cost St Kilda the 2009 Grand Final than the toe poke I reckon. I'm still mystefied why they did that

Zaine Cordy is an honest player who does his best but if the game plan isn’t made to suit him he is in trouble .
He started ok last year but fell away, be interesting to see how he goes this year.
Not sure how many years he got at the saints but it’s definitely a year of importance for him.

Slow starts to a season put you behind the 8 ball and your chasing everyone to catch up.
I think Luke has put the pressure on the boys with the “we will be fitter than ever in our first game” to get us off to a good start .

Elliot Yeoh became Chris Judd for two hours.

I actually rated the Hawks game our worst. Got bullied by kids once Libba was concussed.

Harmes actually would have been handy then.

It's old news but something that the Saints will be very happy to get done. He will bring a lot of structure to their recruiting process.
