I would say we're pretty much the worst in this regard. Even north and the saints get more marquee signings than us. Whether they are astute signings is another question though.

It's hard to know how hard we chase.

Zero block buster games screw us.

Even Melbourne the biggest basket case in the last twenty years has 2!

Who was the last decent signing that went to North? They have offered more cash than anyone else to some big names over the years and none of them bite, instead they overpay average players. Lobb aside we haven't done anything similar (and his contract isn't that big $ wise).

We might not attract big names in their prime too often (Treloar says hello), but our recruiting has been light years ahead of North.

Not so much the north of today, but a few years back before they became a pile of rubble.

Treloar was forced out.

Even after we won the flag we didn't really land anyone.

I'm not exactly saying it's a bad thing. Profile players rarely go to smaller clubs and we might be more astute with who we recruit so we can pay the stars we already have. It's just an observation come trade time we're not landing any talent from other clubs.

No we don't and haven't for some time. Just players on the back end of their career looking for their last pay day and delisted players from other clubs. It's nothing to get excited about.

This is a good point. The way Bevo skates through without any critique or commentary is ludicrous. I would have thought by now there'd at least be a thread referencing mediaeval style removal themes in relation to his coaching tenure.
