    Essendon supporters smug?.....
    Say it ain't so!!

They're a mid table nobody list, anyway. Who cares. I'm almost glad they're off the hook so that I can stop hearing about them ad nauseum.

Deep down they all know their guilty and got off because of a technicality. Can't wait until it's all behind us although that's going to take a while. 7 will shove these cheating pricks down our throats for weeks.

So many questions still. Ironically they have been saved by the lack of records. We will never know whether that is because of inept and shoddy governance or something more sinister (destruction of records?) in the 24hours heads up they were given before 'self reporting' to the AFL.

There was a noticeable coolness in Jobe Watson's comment about what it's like to ask the club what you're given and for them to not be able to tell you. It's to be hoped that no one of these players or their families gets some sort of illness or disability from this program which as ASADA a pointed out today, is not 'supplements' but 'injections. And 100s of them, with no record of what on earth was in them.

My other hope is that if and when this arrogant club wins another flag it is when this current crop of players is gone. The taint and suspicion that maybe the benefit of the unknown substances has still assisted would sicken me completely. I should say I don't bear the players any ill will, it's their narcissistic coach, delusional fans with their puerile gloating and their whole approach to this sorry mess that I can't stand.

They have forfeited any right to be treated respectfully or seriously. Anyone, or any organisation that supports this disgrace financially deserves to be ridiculed and boycotted by any fair minded persons in the community. EFC are cheats, a dangerous, deceitful operation that has benefited from a poor leadership and culture of mates over morals. It is this top end of town, macho, greedy shit that makes the old a really shitty place to live in.

so long as you have enough clout, are in a symbiotic relationship generating wealth and are sufficiently deceitful the world is your oyster.

seems the tribunal at least gave the club a right old kicking about 'deplorable' record keeping. But hey, let's 'standbyhird'.

One of the more interesting responses was from Kurt Fearnley, the world class Paralympian. He says that as a Bombers fan, but also as an athlete who has abided by ASADA/WADA rules since he was 14, the decision was 'strange'.

Many in the Athletics community must be bemused to say the least.

I think Jobe handled it superbly.

It was telling that players held their conference away from the club, in plain clothes, with no club official anywhere to be seen.

This ain't over, by any stretch of the imagination. Hird will have lost the players by years end.

Worksafe must be licking their lips on this. They will take the club to the cleaners.

Re: ASADA issues show-cause notices to Essendon players

We don't know what the players were given
We are 100% confident the players did not take anything that contravened the WADA/ASADA codes

These statements don't marry up very well.

Embarrassing display from all involved (including the players - who I have no sympathy for), showing once again why this competition is representative of a backwater clump of unsophisticated morons followed by supporters who are really too stupid to know that they deserve better.

But so it goes on, and a rich club gets away with committing as close to murder as you can get with the league chief and others commending them as great and in need of solidarity from the competition blah blah blah.

Let's just get ourselves back to the unfair, uninteresting and lopsided competition we've so desperately craved for the last two or three years.

Watch for a nasty incident brewing between opposition supporters and James Hird, as he walks down the race. When justice is not handed out fairly, your ordinary working bloke, who may have had one too many plastic cups, won't be able to help himself.
Then Tom Harley will tell us with great insight " That's disappointing ", the flouro jacketed gestapo will move in and said fan will be ejected.

And yes, Essendon are going to be on the PR Mardi Gras, with Sheedy twirling his jacket on the front float. It's enough to make someone turn to soccer.

My only hope is that we flog the shit out of them when we play them.

I'm guessing they have been waiting for this matter to conclude.

I think I remember reading a couple of months ago, when they put out a release that the weren't taking action against the other 9 Melbourne Clubs, that their investigation into 'another club' was ongoing.

My understanding is that they have stated they would wait until the court cases and asada enquiry were done.
