I am going for either Kennedy or Davidson, probably Kennedy first.

Kennedy relatively fit and developed for his age, and most importantly, apparently is a wonderful kick off either foot.

Davidson is a mature ager who had no problems playing in the ruck in the VFL, not that we would play him there.

    Thoughts?
I think Davidson is first to play next year

I am going with Davidson too. But on a wing. Not the ruck!?!

Yeah, if they’re running him through the wing in match sim, then that’d seem like an open spot where a first year player could get a shot. Kennedy seems to be a mid only which will make it harder for him to break in. Jacques might be a sneaky chance in a half back role. Hynes probably a bit behind on a fitness level. Dolan would also seem to be one who is going to be coming from a way back due to injury / fitness.
Davidson seems the best bet for the first one to make his debut.

I am onboard that Davidson should probably be the first with an opportunity.

Seems to have all the athletic attributes and should really progress in a full professional capacity.

I love the idea of Davidson but what he represents replaces the best version of naughty, who I think is our second best guy. It’s hard!

First comparison I've seen of Naughton and Davidson. I feel like they're quite different players, from the limited I have seen of Davidson.

What do you see as the similarities?

Davidson is a bit of a clone to Bedendo. They are about the same size, age and have similar athletic profiles.

I get there is a bit of hype with Davidson but he hasn't actually completed a lot of full training sessions yet. We will now more by Feb if he is a genuine chance.

According to Egan, he isn't ready for AFL at this stage

At VFL level, Bedendo never performed at the level Davidson reached this year though? And Bedendo was in a full time professional environment, not studying medicine.

I can see the athletic comparison, but I'm feeling more bullish about Davidson than I ever did about Bedendo.

In the AFL I would expect Davidson to play that conduit high half forward, which is Naughty’s best spot. I’ve never seen a team run two of them but I guess it could work.

There's a wing/half forward rotation spot available for Davidson if he grabs it.

It's a wide open field isn't it? Probably 6 players in the mix to partner Williams.

It was the athletic profile that appealed to me with Bedendo. Davidson with a similar profile and seemingly a better player is very appealing for that wing spot. Can't really see a spot in our forward line where the need for us is more genuine crumbers and speedy pressure types. But if Davidson were to develop his running, marking and skills as a winger he would be valuable.

Waiting in hope for some training reports when he is involved in some serious match sim. to see if he is up to it. We definitely have a number of options for that spot though.

Arty Jones is another one I'd love to see grab that role, and I wonder whether Freijah stays down back or moves up to the wing position he played in juniors. Luke Kennedy has some outside run as well.
