So, feel assured that we are incredibly well stocked and well placed to win the flag, with a little luck.
While it would be great to have an Eddie Betts like small forward, the fact that so many of our midfielders hit the scoreboard consistently means we don't actually need such a player.

For mine, our biggest area of concern is our lack of a defender to lock down small forwards and our defensive structure against the elite teams where we allow too many teams to break down our full ground zone, get out the back and kick easy goals.

The fact that we are ranked 18th for defensive one on one contests and 18th for loose ball gets in the backline is a huge concern.

My argument has nothing to do with developing Buss and "seeing what we have in him" because from that angle, I'm all for playing him. I'm just talking about in that game, can we say with any certainty that Busslinger would have performed any better than Gardner? And my argument is no because of what I said.
One thing is pretty certain in my mind about Gardner and Busslinger, is that think whatever you want but Busslinger would Not have done any worse then Gardner .
So as been said here we all know what Gardner brings to the table , his had ample chances to prove people wrong but has failed every time .
Gardner is 28 and his not gonna get any better .
Busslinger is 21 and we have no idea what he can bring to the table and its time we find out , out with the old in with the new .
Matt i get where your comming from about Gardner because i was on board with him until last week , he has preformed really well at state level but the step up to senior level is just to much for him .
Its a bit like the saying about Insanity . " Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result ".
Gardner im afraid fulls into that category .
