This is how I would like us to set-up but I have some doubts.

Backs:
Bramble - Jones - Freijah
Dale - Lobb - Johannisen

Centre:
Davidson - Richards - Williams
English - Bontempelli - Liberatore

Forwards:
Kennedy - Darcy - Vandermeer
Khamis - Naughton - West

Interchange:
O'Donnell - Cleary - Sanders - Garcia - McNeil

It's 8 defenders but I would be using Freijah in the middle as well.
I'm not confident about Khamis is it's greasy conditions.

I like this list as long as McNeil is sub. Not having a VFL game every week is ridiculous. I know they had a match sim but it just ain't cricket.

If Gardner comes in i'll be at a loss, and worried that early season Bevo has reverted to his old ways after getting his comfortable contract extension. What's the saying again? "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice ... ... ... well I won't get fooled again". I don't care how late in the season it is, we either back Jones in to play 75% game time and free up Lobb and JOD for large portions of the game, or we bring Buss in and try to get him up to speed at AFL level and truly see what he's got when the heat rises. Gardner is not an AFL level player, we've seen it, the coaches have seen it, his team mates have seen it. Bringing him in will not improve our defensive structure in any way shape or form.

Liam Jones flying north as part of the 26 for the Dogs after overcoming injury concerns. Buku on the plane too. Surely Bevo has to try Jones against a side like Brisbane to see if he still has it. Five intercept marks in the VFL last time out. We shall see.

I know. I don’t get it. Buss must think what he has to do to get a game. He played well against GWS. Sub next week (made absolutely no sense) and then disappeared into oblivion. MC strikes again.

I was at the Adelaide game, but watched the replay back last night (needed that many days to not be angry about it haha).

What I will say is this- I don't think personnel down back was anywhere near the biggest issue. Some of the turnovers were top tier howler stuff and it absolutely torched our backs. It wouldn't matter if we had Darcy Moore, Sam Taylor and Harris Andrews there on those occasions.

I really don't think JOD deserves the hate he is getting. Like most people here, I think the mix was wrong too- why tf we didn't bring in one or two of either Jones, Buku, Sellwood, Buss, or even Cleary (for Dolan or Poulter) is beyond me.

Clean up the stupid amounts of turnovers for a start and we will be ok.

I thought Thilthorpe was just too good on the night and out marked Lobb, but also had some good delivery to him.

There were some real howler turnovers from Dolan, and don't get me wrong, I think he will be ok, but he was like a deer in headlights handballing direct to Adelaide players.

The 3 obvious ones are out. None of the new travellers excite me but we don’t have much.

Well that is completely beside the point I was making. I would be surprised if Jones was selected without being capable of playing at least around 90% TOG.

Yeah looking at that Duryea has a fork in him, Baker will bomb it anywhere our player aren't and I'm happy enough with Jones and Buku. 95% chance of rain may influence our decision.
