I've noticed that. Based on what I have read here he might be due for a senior assistant coaches role.

Why not at the afl level for bulldogs? Surely he deserves it. I know lade is in that position now, but with soft cap going up , bulldogs should reward him for his work at vfl level.

                  POWER IN DOGS' SIGHTS

LUKE Power is favoured to land a new role at the Western Bulldogs after quitting Carlton as the Blues' VFL coach last week.

Power departed the Blues after three seasons as VFL coach and three years before that as the head of development.

He has been in discussions with multiple clubs, with Essendon and the Bulldogs looking to add him in different roles, with the Dogs now looking likely to land him in a newly created football department position.

The Bombers had been looking to lure Power to be their head of development as they try to bolster that area.

The three-time premiership player at Brisbane has a long history in football, having finished his playing career at Greater Western Sydney. He was a Giants assistant coach and then landed the role as the AFL Academy's head coach leading the country's best young talents.

Do we not have any sort of conflict of interest training ? How do we feel about bringing in a guy who has been part of Carlton's horrible development of their young players,

Carlton can confirm a further change to its coaching department, with VFL Senior Coach Luke Power set to depart IKON Park having decided to pursue other opportunities.

Power, who has played a pivotal role across the Club’s development and VFL programs, has made the decision to take up another opportunity in order to further round out his coaching experience in the system, after six years of dedicated service at the Blues.

Landing at IKON Park in 2019 as AFL Head of Development, Power then then took on the role of VFL Senior Coach of the Carlton Reserves at the end of 2022.

In charge of nurturing and developing emerging talent at the Blues, Power was named the AFL Coaches Association’s Assistant Coach of the Year in 2021.

“We would like to thank Luke for his commitment and contribution during his past six years at the Blues,” Carlton Acting GM of Football Len Villani said.

“His advancement of our standalone VFL program, along with our development pathway, has our club well established in this regard, and that is significantly due to the tireless efforts of Luke over many years.

"Luke is a great football person, and is highly regarded across the football department and throughout the Club, which is a testament to the way he carries himself as a person.”

“We will continue to work through the makeup of our 2026 AFL coaching structure, and will provide you all with further updates throughout the off season period.”

Very interesting on a few fronts, how you'd go working with your brother and 2, the older brother working under the younger bro!

I'd be surprised if Carlton's issues with emerging talent are solely to do with Luke Power's influence or methods. Talent identification probably hasn't been fantastic development managers don't drive overall strategy that would surely impact how the list is developed.

Having said all that, while Luke is a genuinely great guy (or at least was when he was younger) and probably very competent I'm a little uncomfortable about him being brought to the club, mainly because if things don't go right it'll give reason for scrutiny to be lopsided towards the family connection. If he's not the standout candidate for the gig, then I wouldn't do it.
                              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
