You also need one more defender so I would replace Garcia with Gallagher.
Harmes is there on the HFF. Gallagher v Garcia is line ball, but you make a good point about the back line.

If Dale isn't ready, I would almost play Cleary in his place.

I want Arty Jones to be the sub, at least first up against North. He seems to bring a real shot of energy in this role and gives us some nice pace and a different dynamic as a fresh set of legs when a bit of the pace has gone out of the game and players are tiring. Versatile too and looks noticeably stronger and more sure footed in a contest than he did earlier on in his career.

He was drafted at pick 61 apparently.

I don't mind Cleary standing in for Dale if that's what's required. I do worry about his strength, but he's a guy who in his second year people were suggesting move in lieu of not getting enough opportunities! He was disappointing last year, to be fair, but I think he has a bit going for him in his tidy, bland way (that sounds like a sledge, maybe it is, but it wasn't supposed to be). If he turns out to be solid depth that can step in from time to time, you never know, he might just get a few opportunities and be in the right place at the right time to help us get a few over the line.
            TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

I would definitely play Cleary in his place. I love what Gags could be, but Cleary's composure and ball use puts him ahead of him right now. Gags is tougher at the ground ball, Cleary better overhead and it seemed like his positioning was very good.

Fully agree. Cleary should be rightly considered for a round pne position.

Cleary certainly made it an interesting question last night. He was just reliable. I think he’s more Duryea than Dale though. (Gags probably is too atm).

Croft certainly made a case for his inclusion while we are down some tall timber and Dolan did too.

Excellent. We’ve got a few selection headaches on the horizon as we get players back
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

Cleary is the same height as Buku, but plays a lot smaller, but can also use his height to advantge.

Incredibly weird commentary from Russell all game. Felt like he was trying to get him delisted.

After last night this is the 23 id go in with for round 1. Cleary Davidson and McNeil have to be picked after that performance and I also thought Arty got the nod over Garcia but it's a flip of the coin

He basically ended Coffield's career last night.

I'm not sure we'd go with two small defensive rotations on the bench - I don't think Gags plays if Dale is fit.

I think Croft is now a sneaky chance for a debut in round 1. He's raw and not quite ready but just offers a real point of difference and just seems to gain a little bit of composure every time he runs out. We know he can cover the ground for 4 quarters.

I don't think Croft is ready he looked good last night but I'd hate to throw him to the wolves.

I think it would be silly to play Croft. I want him to do well, but he's nowhere near ready.

Gags could be a good sub option given he has an ability to play multiple roles. I hope we start Arty - gives us a bit of what we don't have, especially with what we have our injured.

It would be hard not to pick Cleary after that. Did everything right. Many of us were thinking he was lucky to be on the list in some regards but he showed last night that he's dependable depth, not everybody is a starting 18 player, but he can plug and play when needed and jumped a few with his performance.
