Just play a role and hopefully snag a goal or 2. Alternatively we go smaller and don't play a third tall as such.

Perhaps Hynes is a smokey if his fitness is up to scratch.
If he is selected in the team as a forward, and is the third option/most kicked to player, then he is a critical part of the team.
Any team that relies on Pulter to that degree is not good.
I used the term key, instead of critical.

Mark Stevens thinks Crossley is a round 1 smokey and he's normally well connected. I think he'd have to be subbed off pretty early in the 3rd quarter if he does play as he just can't run with opposition rucks (Bryan ran off him pretty easy as the game wore on).

A lot rests on a debutant (Davidson) in that case as he'd have to play more of a forward lead-up role rather than the wing role he's been playing all pre-season, as we wouldn't bring another marking forward in with this set-up.
        Brew really doesn't.

        He's terrible.

Don’t mind that W18. I probably have Gags sneaking into the 22 with either Harmes or Garcia as sub, but I’m currently going with the same 23
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

On Fridays session Duryea went off with what appeared to a hamstring issue. If he was to miss a couple of weeks early in the season it would really give us an inexperienced back line.
I wonder if that would mean Baker would be in the mix for a back line position.

I know Baker has been training with the backs, but he does make me nervous there. I'd rather VDM.

Our defensive seven will look something like this:

                Lobb
                Dale
                Fridge
                Bramble
                Gags
                JOD
                Buss/Buku

Gags definitely ahead of Baker. You'd like to think Lachie Jacques would be better than Bakes.

The fact Cleary is not even in the discussion here indicates that he's now just a list clogger. I think we'd all rather have Brew.

I'll probably have egg on my face but the fact that we've heard nothing on Duryea after 3 days, he's likely had the scans and found no damage.

The club came out pretty quickly on Jones and JJ from memory.

Gags' kicking makes me nervous out of the back half.
He the opposite of Bontempelli, just fluffs so many field kicks but is good kicking at goal.

The only questionable player here is Buku in a KPD role. To me he is a third tall.

Assuming Richards, Bont, Dale, and West are all back.

I know VDM is a whipping boy but I think he's earned a place in the side ahead of Gallagher, whose disposal is a worry.

That's ready to rock and roll for round 1 but Harmes should play ahead of a couple of them shouldn't he?
You also need one more defender so I would replace Garcia with Gallagher.
