Nearly all the developers for the VB3 and VB4 versions all moved on once VBulletin moved to versions 5 and then 6. It was a big change in terms of software design and somewhat restrictive.
Previous to that there was a heap options and features available that we could add on but that has gone.
It's something like 8 years since years since VB4 was last worked on. In PC speak we have essentially been running on an old version of Windows and sometime in the furure we wouldn't have been able to recover things if it crashed.
This meant as issues arrived like the Apple/iphone characters issues not being recognized there really wasn't a lot of viable options to fix anything.
The added distraction was that most people view forums like this on their mobile phones now and the old version just didn't appeal to many of them.
I'm going to write up some instructions on how I think people can get the most out of the changes but I think most people will get used to it quick enough.
If there is anything in particular that's annoying then please let me know and I'll see if I can find a solution for you.
