The more the player gets too.

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

If it gets their client the best outcome, wouldn't it be negligent not to be?

Welcome to humanity. I've dealt with real estate agents before and as a farmer my Dad has dealt with supermarkets.

Well everyone is seeking to negotiate the best terms they can from their own perspective.

It takes a high level of integrity to do the right thing when it is against your best interest.

Yes but best terms shouldn't just include wages.

Something about the way players shop their interests around tells you about their character.
I thought Dangerfield did his in a dignified way.
Not sure Carlisle, bitching and moaning to forwards from opposition teams while on the job, has shown professionalism. But mind you, being contracted to Essendon would test a man's patience.

I think that is the perception because the managers/agents are only really visible in the cases where dealings are more protracted, where trades are in play or when something is controversial.

95% of deals just happen without any fanfare, and most agents have good relationships with the clubs.

The belief that agents are just trying to shop players around to other clubs all the time, to feather their own nests, is just plain wrong. And I think often the agents have to play the 'bad guy' to help their client get the outcome he wants, whilst protecting his own reputation.

Carlisle says things at the footy out loud, that all of us fans can only think about with the threat of ejection... "(Essendon) This club is seriously f**ked."

To be fair, he was telling the truth

I guess it works both ways. This time last year we loved Liam Pickering, this time we dislike Liam Pickering (Talia).

I could be totally wrong, but Paul Connors seems a genuine guy and as Ozza says 95% of deals get done without any publicity.
More of an In Bruges guy?
