    Re: Operation get Jake Carlisle

Carlisle is due to make the big announcement today?

Either way, his decision will be a major factor in our entire trade/draft period strategy.

    Interesting day ahead.

I'd be surprised if a decision was announced today, two days out from the Grand Final. Typically they hold off until after it's done and dusted, and given Carlisle hasn't met with us yet and St. Kilda for a second time, an announcement today seems a little early.

After what Bevo said yesterday morning I'd be suprised if Carlisle announced he wanted to come to us today.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I like the way Beveridge has put "the sell" on Carlisle, and not just the begging bowl .
I think we're in with a decent chance, and hopefully luke and J McCartney can convince him.

Him and his whole family are mad dogs supporters and his dad has mentioned he wants him with us.
If that's anything to go by.
I wonder if Crameri might be used to get him here as in a little chat.

Connors managed a good mate of mine for 10 years, and from everything I heard about him during that time, he sounds a pretty stand up guy.

All the recent media reports list Anthony McConville as JCs manager.

Yeah he is, I referred to Pickering as he manages Tom Boyd and Michael Talia. Last year we lauded Pickering as a genius, now we are not saying such complementary things about him.
More of an In Bruges guy?

I've got nothing bad to say about him personally he's just doing his job as a player manager. Id' fire him if he didn't go out and bat for me.

A bit of smart spin actually to make Jake think not just about the money but how he wants to play and success.

Agreed. If he chooses the other paths he's got just $$$ in his eyes.
