"Lively and competitive at stoppages and around the ground, Ewan MacPherson, the son of Stephen and younger brother of Gold Coast's Darcy, was the standout for Northern. The Western Bulldogs father-son prospect collected 25 disposals, 10 contested possessions and nine tackles."

In draft expert Chris Doerre's second weekly wrap for the year, the focus turns to Victorian and Collingwood father-son prospect Nick Daicos who has just the right amount of arrogance to match his talent.

        Re: 2021 draft watch

Could be an interesting draft year for us this year. Particularly for us supporters with the number of potential draftees with affiliations to the club having good starts to the year.

This year we have the following draft picks that are worth points.

Picks 18 & 73 (based om ladder position as at round 4)

        Potential Father Sons

        Ewan McPherson - midfielder/half back

        Sam Darcy - key defender/ruck

        NGA

        Blake Scott - small forward/midfielder

        Cody Raak - Tall Defender

        Footscray

        Corey Preston - small forward

We have a number of 19yo prospects listed at Footscray who missed out last year who could also be a chance.

If it comes to pass we were interested in 3 of those guys, this year would be the year to trade out fringe players and stock up extra points/picks. Will be interesting to watch them this year.

Scott has been impressive enough to start the season, but Preston really looks to tick more boxes of 'need' for our AFL side. It could be a good thing if we get a LTI and open up a mid-season draft spot.

Sam Darcy is a giant already from what I’ve seen. Is he a ruckman at AFL level?
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

He’s 200cm so definitely ruck height. Whether he has the frame is the question. I must say, I like the idea of a 200cm key defender with great footy pedigree, glad he’s being developed in defence.

The Chargers are playing tomorrow and the game will be streamed via the Nab League app for anyone wanting to watch him. Nick Daicos will also feature and he’s projecting to be a top 3 pick at this point.

Impressing with his run and intercepting in defence, Western Bulldogs Next-Generation Academy member Cody Raak was Western's standout in their heavy loss to Oakleigh. The tall defender amassed 33 disposals, seven marks and 10 rebound 50s.

First time I'd seen him since local lower level, and he does look pretty good. Used his body well in a couple of contests and kicking was assured.
I'm from the same area and have crossed paths with his old man and he was pretty tall and athletic also.

IIRC we had concerns Macrae was too skinny until we interviewed him at home and saw his dad.
