We have serious depth of talent on the list.
Embarrassing depth. Our list and draft managers are doing an insanely good job.

I don’t see him turning into a defender. So he’s impact the forward line and he’s competing with the players Rocco mentioned. Others who have other tricks. I’m not going to write him off, I’m just seeing that he’s going to have to bang down the door as a forward to get back in, while the others plateau. Games like tonight probably don’t do that. But we will see.
I'm not sure if you've seen something like this, but this is what he offered last year - he hasn't shown anything like this so far in 2021, and I'm not sure if he is out of form or struggling with the changes to our forward structure?

They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Pretty good showcase for a handful of players tonight.

Buku and West the standouts for me in terms of seeing their growth as players and where they fit in the selection frame. Clear to me that West should be in. Also clear that Buku is emerging as a Wood replacement.

Pretty crazy Westy not being in the 1s.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

It looks like a potentially difficult thing for player and club this year unless the MC are forced to pick him on outstanding form.

That aside, it’s great to have a lot of good problems.
It's a long season and if we're lucky enough to be there at the end of it players like Wally need to be around and either playing or putting pressure on.

To me he's basically Sam Lloyd 2017. Clearly capable playing in the AFL as a forward in his team but not preferred in that position among others, and able to play in the middle in the reserves because he's good enough to do so.

Is it the best you've seen? In 2016 it was one in one out and we managed to knock out 15 wins in the home and away season. I'm thinking we're better placed than then, but you can only tell if tested, of course.

He was great last year, but not many of the goals he kicked were crumbing or pressure related. I guess when Bevo said he was out of the team because we had more marking players more competent than he was it's kinda evidential.

Leigh Montagna mentioned that we do have great depth, but said as we only have 1-2 players on the injury list we were at full strength.

By my count on the injury list this week we have Williams & Gardner who are both AFL players and then McNeil, Richards & McLean who are all borderline best 22 players.

                        Our depth is ridiculously good.

I *checks notes* raised this at the start of the season and considered that Wall, for every great piece of body work and conversion, did little to actually create scores. It’s a concern thats played out for reals but luckily we’ve been able to cover it with a shockingly modern tall setup and a stack of scores from our midfield.

I don’t see him getting back in as a forward.

Is Lipinski the victim of our playing depth or one of those classic too good for the VFL, not quite good enough for the AFL?

I hate seeing him as the yo-yo player this year

He’s gonna leave and be an excellent player wherever he goes (probably Sydney).

Lipinski definitely good enough at AFL level and has played some very good games for us. He’s ideally suited as a mid and it’s just hard to get minutes with our engine room.

The one who I think comes in as soon as he’s match fit is Mitch Hannan. He had a few moments that just screamed AFL quality and has obvious forward instincts. Can see him taking Scott or JJ’s spot in the coming weeks.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.
