Perhaps a few more points will come our way or something extra for next year.

    Good luck to Lewy.
Maybe he’s sick of fighting with us given the preference given to others… time for him to take a chance elsewhere.

Agree that it's likely there is two sides of the story here. He probably should have been given more opportunities particularly when Gardner was injured.

Currently with West Coast so they must be handing that over for SPS and Carlton on trading it to us for Young.

Oh well, 246 more points I guess.

That’s a little better than I thought. I’d prefer he was with us, but it’s the best move for him without doubt.

The writing was on the wall after the GC game earlier this year that he wasn’t in our long term plans… hope he goes well at Carlton as he seems a likeable guy.

Western Bulldogs and Collingwood continue to haggle over Patrick Lipinski’s price

The Western Bulldogs and Collingwood continue to haggle over Patrick Lipinski’s price in a deal that has the Pies with the strong whip hand given their pre-season draft position.

The Dogs are keen for a single higher draft pick but Collingwood at this stage has offered up a combination of selections that would make up a similar points value.

Collingwood’s exact offer is not known but handing over picks 55 and 58 would have the same points value as giving the Dogs the earlier pick 43.

The Dogs are keen for the earlier pick even though they might eventually use those picks for their points value to secure father-son Sam Darcy.

Despite their three-season offer the Dogs did not have inside midfielder Lipinski in their finals squads and have dropped him six times over his short career.

It means if a deal could not be brokered he would be able to walk into the pre-season draft, where Collingwood has the No. 2 overall selection.

For that reason, despite the parties being some way apart a deal should eventually be struck to see Lipinski join Geelong’s Nathan Kreuger at the Holden Centre.

Lipinski was played on a wing at the Dogs but has claims as an inside midfielder given his brilliant VFL performances in that position this year.

The Pies now have a range of picks that will allow them to secure father-son Nick Daicos after brokering a deal for Geelong swingman Kreuger earlier in the week.

                        Claims as an inside midfielder?

                        Laughable.

If Lippa drags this to the PSD I’ll be pretty dirty on him. As it stands, we’ll get peanuts for him anyway despite putting a 3 year deal in front of him. He’s put us over a barrel by nominating one club.

Should have taken Shai Bolton when we had the chance.

We'll make something of 55 and 58. Get er' done.

I'm wondering why we are holding out for the single higher pick rather than a combination of later picks? Must have something in mind other than simply points for Darcy.

Also not sure why Collingwood care when they just need points for Daicos?

We currently hold onto picks 23, 44, 45, 52 and 93. They only work for points though if they are actual draft picks (ie. we have a list spot allocated to them). If we add 43 to those picks we need to find 5 list spots to use them to match Darcy. If we take 55 and 58 we need to find 6 list spots to make them useful.

Basically it saves us delisting a player.

I haven't done the actual maths either, so 43 might mean we don't have to use 52 or maybe even 45 on Darcy. That means we wouldnt have to delist a player to activate them and could trade them out for future picks or to upgrade a different pick. Basically 43 vs 55/58 could mean one or two players not delisted and a future third or something coming back our way next year vs nothing.
I should leave it alone but you're not right
