He's just not up to the level. Pains me to say it, but there's not anything he's going to add other than depth.

    Clearly other teams agree.

I'd cut him, but that's the business not the emotion.

He is Bulldog royalty, albeit more Portsea than Altona.

Agreed. I would cut Wallis too.

Whether it is the game or his body/age or other options we can play, he does not add value to our list any more and I'd rather punt on a late pick or an unrestricted agent.

            I don't think that's the case.

Wallis is a model citizen and leads by example. If the conversations with Bevo have stated that his chances of playing AFL footy are the same as this year (limited) and Wally is ok with that then having him play at Footscray with our younger players would be a great outcome.

I agree with this. Two years ago he was our leading small forward, now he’s probably third in line. He said in his interview last night he knows what he has to work on to break back into the side. His attitude (model citizenship) is exactly what we need at our club.

Totally agree but we get similar from him being a Footscray listed player or a dev coach.
I know I'm shooting Bambi but if we are not going to play him then I'd rather have someone on the list we are.
I'm really playing devil's advocate and love Wally.

As you guys say if he's happy with that role then I guess it's a win in terms of culture.

As far as his AFL career goes though, it's probably a poor choice.

We did offer 3 years though, I mean that's a good deal at the runner up team so he was clearly respected.
If you're Patrick, you have to look at a midfield rotation of Bont, Macrae, Libba, Dunkley, Treloar and Smith with only Libba close to the end, and be realistic about your chance of getting a decent shot at a midfield role anytime soon, regardless of how hard he fights.
They clearly showed him they wanted to keep him around, and I assume the messaging from Bevo was the same, but he can't go and guarantee players games for 2022. Lipinski clearly saw if he wanted a better shot at playing AFL right now in a suitable role he had to move. And I agree with you, I think he's talented and could play a role, but also think we're deep in the areas where he fits best.

He may see the best way for him to transition into a coach is to play on for one more year and get first hand experience with the players - whether it is VFL or AFL.

I am happy for Wally to be around the club. He is a real leader.

                      Im joining the chorus here

He's done amazingly well to bounce back from the horrific leg break the way he has. Few ever re-emerge the same player.

He continues to be a great example for his teammates about whats required and is a natural leader. The Wallis family have a huge legacy of leadership at the club, getting the most out of yourself, and being successful post footy, and our playing group is better for having him around.

I note the Wally chorus but I hope his list spot does not cost us the opportunity to get a player in to make a difference with our first 22.

                        Wally won't.

And Wood is cooked. He should have been tapped on the shoulder too.

How many players of Wally's quality have been traded this trade period who we've missed out on?

Players who can make our best 22 better, aside from O'Brien who may potentially and we've already landed, just aren't floating around this year.
                          TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Pleasantly surprised we got 43 for Lipinski. He showed fatal flaws in his defensive game this year, too easy to play against whether he's in a top 4 or bottom 4 side. Thought Young would be worth more as a hybrid with some development left in him given he hasn't had a settled role or place in the team, could see him emulating Roughead
If you kicked five goals and Tom Boyd kicked five goals, Tom Boyd kicked more goals than you.

Lippa was disappointing this year with Treloar and Dunkley out for large periods he still couldn't cement himself.

Like Young he has made the right decision to save his AFL career, I wish him all the best.

What a snore of a trade period, you know you're getting desperate when people are getting excited for when Bobby Hill is up for grabs.

Lets get Darcy and hit the preseason running.

For sure. I think that Lipinski will end up playing a similar role for Collingwood that Bailey Dale has found himself playing for us. Running off the HBF and letting the game open up in front of him.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.
