I'm happy with 43 for Lipinski. If he was contracted I'd be expecting a mid-second somewhere around his draft number at worst, because let's face it, at 23 he's a much better player than he was when he started with us.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
Do you think Lippa would've said you have to trade for me because I won't walk to the PSD out of respect for the dogs? Or is that sort of thing a furphy these days
There are too many bridges burnt telling a club take this or get nothing. Those threats and Veale deals are pretty much dead now.

How long should we expect fringe players to want to ''fight for their spot''?
If he worked on his challenges and still didn't measure up then fair enough but until this season I didn't regard him as a fringe player but someone who was close to being a regular senior player.

AFL contracts run until Oct 31st each year, so there will be a list lodgement date on or around then (could be 29th with 31st being a Sunday). There's usually a second lodgement date shortly before the draft.

And then this year came along and his progress stagnated and he was found wanting at crucial moments of games against good opponents.
It’s the right time that he moves on because the limitations in his game mean he’ll never quite be the player we need him to be given with the players we already have.

Bit harsh. WOuld Wally have played a better game in the GF than say Hannan? Weightman? I don't think he would have been the difference, but I think there is some consideration that he may have contributed more than those players did.

Until this season he wasn't competing with Treloar though and we liked playing medium pace half forwards like he and Lloyd.
I really rate Lipinski as a second tier mid but he isn't gonna get games here and arguably this year was the year he stuck around to try and fight it out. I know that faced with a contract from Collingwood who are trying to build up a midfield that has a number of blank spaces in it and presumably a fairly healthy back ended contract I'd be pretty tempted when the alternative is stay at the Bulldogs where you know you are always the first dropped and are competing with the likes of Bailey Smith and Adam Treloar for your preferred position.

I'm surprised he didn't try and stick with it. A lifelong bulldogs supporter and he has shown glimpses of excellent football if not for a couple of weaknesses in his game (lack of pace and defensive/aggressiveness).
If i got to play with the team i supported you would have to force me out unless there was some major beef had that made the place uncomfortable to be at. not suggesting this is what is happening but i just can't fathom why he would want to leave.

I'm actually really dissapointed Patrick left. I feel he has real talent.
This happens at clubs, but makes me wonder about Bevo's ability to engage with the fringe enough to make them buy in to a future.
We did offer 3 years though, I mean that's a good deal at the runner up team so he was clearly respected.
