Adam proved he can in 2024....Can he prove it in 2026 coming off a gap year where his body completely failed him?

I have my doubts he can be an offensive weapon and then not be a total liability when the opposition have the ball.

I have the same doubts but he gets a chance. Different strokes for different folks, but if he can't then he gets phased out for players who can and that particular condition of his re-signing needed to be made clear. Which I think it likely would have been, as the guy seems like a genuine pragmatist and true professional who would understand his situation.

If he had some trade value then I'd have considered moving him on, if it was a very very strong draft then maybe his spot might be better off given to someone new. But neither of those things meet reality, so he gets his one year deal with no promises.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Adam is also a great mentor to many young players - which for me is a big plus. It is a risk to sign him on for next year, but so far he has been ok with his injury management, so hopefully it continues.

The rewards outweigh the risks. He's a brilliant trainer and probably in the best 3 that I have seen in recent years. Dunkley and Wallis are the other two.
His relationships with the younger players is also fantastic so if the medical team think he's an acceptable risk then that should work.
He might need to take some other roles from time to time in 2026.

Duryea retired, delist Coffield, Poulter & reluctantly L. Jones

Johannisen likely has to wait till after the trade period, happy to offer a 1 year deal to Baker & Scott.

Then expect to hear Khamis request a trade & JUH’s contract to be ripped up.

I would delist all the uncontracted players and maybe keep Baker. Baker needs to be more consistent and to me could be border line, but I think we end up keeping him.

Hope we keep Baker. He is far from perfect, but I loved his game today. Has a mad dog attitude and a body to give affect to that. Really has a go.

I think Baker and Scott should get one more year each.

I'd trade Khamis and Marra is TBC.

Delist JJ, Coffield, Poulter, Jones, Duryea retired.

I just wonder if Scott's long list of injuries including multiple concussions factor into the decision to offer another contract?
He's a good depth player but if can't achieve continuity with his football it limits him.

I'm not normally a massive fan of re-rookieing players who have had their chance on the main list but I would be happy to make an exception for Scott this year. A depth player who can be 100% trusted to contribute at senior level. I also think he deserves it on merit - he has shot the lights out at VFL level the last 4-6 weeks.

It's a marginal call and I get the delist Scott argument. The injury/concussion history is clearly part of the decision-process.

                          Yep, I hear ya.

Seems like an elite clubman too and that's a big tiebreaker if it's a close call.

Buku has officially requested a trade to Carlton.

Shame because I like him and he keeps improving. What do we think we'll ask for? He's very good depth, versatile, and contracted. I know his 'worth' on production doesn't warrant a second round pick but anything beyond that, I'm not sure it's worth it for us.

Good luck to Buku he is making the right call to move on, a 4 year deal is what he needs.
