Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
Agree with the strategy. The other part for me is the Saints are two years behind our rebuild. Why would they bother going for a 24/5? Year old 2nd forward at this point. GWS would worry me more as they are desperate for good experienced players and their wallets are now bulging with the unspent Buddy money...Comment

Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
And hopefully something is done about it. How is this league a competition any more? We have teams that can spend copious amounts extra than most other clubs. I don't know how any Victorian, South Australian or Western Australian supporter can be pleased with this news. It's about time something is done!Comment

Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
At the very least the whole process needs to be much more transparent. The COLA is flawed given that it's not enforced competition wide (ie. a lower salary cap for Geelong), but for all we know there are heaps of senior Sydney players earning peanuts. And hopefully something is done about it. Very good point Superdog. GWS would definitely be a threat to grab Crameri in the PSD now.Agree with the strategy. The other part for me is the Saints are two years behind our rebuild. He's also listed as going to West Coast.
It wouldn't surprise me if the web editor simply copied/pasted the Yarran rumour from the West Coast part and forgot to change it.W00F!Comment

Re: Recruiting Rumour File 2013
Good summary here
DONE DEALS
Lance Franklin (Sydney) - Pending AFL approval, the Hawk forward will sign a contract worth about $10 million over nine years in a deal no one, including GWS, saw coming.
Dale Thomas (Carlton) - Set to join Carlton on a four-year agreement at nearly $700,000 a season, an offer the Pies are highly unlikely to match.
Eddie Betts (Adelaide) - Carlton forward expected to receive a four-year offer of about $2m from the Crows.
Colin Sylvia (Fremantle) - The Demon No.3 draft pick to join Ross Lyon's pursuit of a premiership.
Shane Mumford (GWS) - Sydney ruckman will accept a three-year deal with Giants.
Matt White (Port Adelaide) -White will leave Richmond to join Port Adelaide on a three-year deal.
ONES TO WATCH
Stewart Crameri (Essendon)
Bombers’ leading goal-kicker looks sure to join the Western Bulldogs on a four-year deal on a salary way bigger than Essendon was prepared to pay.
Heath Shaw (Collingwood)
Has one foot out the door after both club and player decided to split. Geelong and GWS among a host of clubs interested in the feisty defender.
Jesse White (Sydney)
Out of contract and Sydney is resigned to losing him. Collingwood seems his most likely destination.
Nick Dal Santo (St Kilda)
North Melbourne believes it is closing in.
Taylor Adams (GWS)
Has five Victorian clubs after him, although there is more money to keep him now that Franklin is out of the Giants picture.
Billy Longer (Brisbane Lions)
With Shane Mumford off to GWS, Hawthorn is expected to seek a trade for the emerging ruckman.
Shaun Hampson (Carlton)
Richmond wants a ruck-forward and will meet with the under-used big man. A deal would require fair compensation as he is contracted for 2014.
Paul Chapman (Geelong)
His time is up with the Cats but desperate to play on.
James Podsiadly (Geelong)
Veteran forward says he will put his services as a proven goal-kicker on offer.
Josh Hunt (Geelong)
Another premiership Cat shown the door but not ready to quit just yet.
Joel Corey (Geelong)
Expected to part ways with the club on his own terms shortly.
Corey Enright (Geelong)
Expected to play for a 14th season.
Alan Didak (Collingwood)
Not ready to retiree and would field offers.
Xavier Ellis (Hawthorn)
Adelaide and Fremantle has shown some interest.
Leigh Montagna (St Kilda)
Saints say he and Nick Riewoldt are “untouchable”, but who knows after what we saw with Franklin.
OTHER UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS (may automatically move to the club of player's choice)
Simon Black (Brisbane Lions), Jonathan Brown (Brisbane Lions), Heath Scotland (Carlton), Michael Osborne (Hawthorn), Matt Thomas (Port Adelaide), Luke McGuane (Richmond), Dylan Addison (Western Bulldogs), Daniel Cross (Western Bulldogs)
