Obviously we would expect to get one. The names being bandied are all players who fit a need (e.g. strong forwards) and it is important to Macca that they all know that the Bulldogs is an option for them. We will get one of them but having a group of them offers us the best chance of that.

Macca has sat back at the Cats and watched Johnno in the goal square for so long and has now gone hard on what he sees as our biggest deficiency.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

If, IF, we get Patton and Crameri.

Could the consequences include Jones playing CHB/swing man? Would that flexibility to structure by having Patton in particular be more than just having a gorilla power forward??

Patton would be taking Campbell's spot over Jones - Campbell is playing gorilla, Jones the leading forward.

Crameri furthe rup the ground, Jones mid forward, Patton FF - 3 small/resting mids/Grant around them.

I wonder if Hampson's girlfriend's manager will like her being associated with a delisted hack loser.

Laidler is a decent player and will come cheap. Not interested in the others.

If I was Carlton, I'd try and start a bidding war over Yarran and take the best offer they can get. I don't think he'll ever buy into Malthouse's game plan and his value will only drop.

It appears Malthouse may just be doing that, by saying he is a required player.

I'm not sold on Laidler to be honest. Not sure he'd be ahead of Roughead, Talia, Austin and Williams.

MIDFIELDER Dustin Martin has quit Richmond.

His management told the club on Monday that he wanted to pursue other opportunities.

"Given the considerable effort we have put into Dustin's development both on and off the field, and our efforts to retain him all season, we are extremely disappointed with this decision," Richmond general manager of football Dan Richardson said.

"We are proud of the way Dustin has developed as a footballer, and as a person, in his time at Richmond, and we have been steadfast in our view that he is a required player who has an exciting football career ahead of him.

"However, we understand the business of football, and Dustin's right to pursue other opportunities.

"We have also stated previously that we are determined to adhere to our payment strategy for all of our players, many of whom have already committed to the club and its future direction during the 2013 season."

Adams (GWS) for Martin is my first thoughts.

This could throw a spanner in the works in our pursuit for Patton.
