Re: Recruiting Speculation File 2013
So why are we hearing he's contracted for next season ?To counter that here's Chris Pelchen speaking about it
“They are normal discussions that take place when a player is out of contract and until a new contract is presented to the AFL, Nick is still an uncontracted player in a theoretical sense.”
He's also on the official free agency list.
He's 30 at the start of next season, so he'd be a second rounder.
What a bizarre contract situationComment

Really poor and tacky responses. Addison is not gifted but gives everything when he's out in the red white and blue. He's been a good servant to the club and doesn't deserve that. Really poor form!Comment

DFA is one player who never leaves anything out on the ground. He deserves our respect. Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment

Re: Recruiting Speculation File 2013
Okay I'll just come out and say it; why?
When I look at Crameri I see an inconsistent, injury prone player carrying too much bulk for his frame, one who often struggles to impact games and has no real outstanding attributes. And we're going to pay overs for him one way or another.
Any supporters of his out there I'd love to hear why? Greystache you seem to watch a lot of Essendon, anything different to add?- I'm a visionary - Only here to confirm my biases -Comment

I'm not worried by the $450K per season that is on offer, it seems about the right price to pay but I'll admit I am concerned about the 4 years he'll be locked in for.Okay I'll just come out and say it; why?

I have similar concerns to you HD and feel with have a player with similar attributes to Crameri in Stringer at the club already.Comment

That's a pretty good assessment overall.Okay I'll just come out and say it; why?

A couple of things I would add is he actually has elite endurance and works quite hard. He's not a particularly strong mark given he's a strong bodied midsized forward which is my concern on him. He also always seems to be carrying something, so while not missing many games, he is often limited. He's a decent player, will probably kick 30 odd goals a season, but isn't really a match winner. Stringer should develop into a similar player eventually.
I imagine we see him as a more talented and less injury prone version of Williams, so will play that lead up forward role, but have more impact. Which begs the question if we get Crameri why would we keep Williams?Western Bulldogs: We exist to win premiershipsComment

Re: Recruiting Speculation File 2013
I'd prefer to throw the sink at Patton than make a play at Crameri.
Patton is a key forward we can build a forward line around for the next 10 years. Crameri is more of a role player that will thrive within a functioning forward line such as Hawthorn's (Gunston is a good reference point).
Get Patton with pick 4, trade into the first round (pick 22 and Wood for GWS compensation pick) and use that to draft the best mid available as the talent seems evenly rated from pick 6 - 15.Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.Comment
