Any supporters of his out there I'd love to hear why? Greystache you seem to watch a lot of Essendon, anything different to add?
Although I agree, Crameri would still win our goal kicking. He demands a good defender and works very hard. I'd be more than comfortable with us getting him. The price offered isn't overs.

He doesn't have to be the main man just another piece of the forward line puzzle.

Patton is a key forward we can build a forward line around for the next 10 years. Crameri is more of a role player that will thrive within a functioning forward line such as hawthorn's (gunston is a good reference point).

Get patton with pick 4, trade into the first round (pick 22 and wood for gws compensation pick) and use that to draft the best mid available as the talent seems evenly rated from pick 6 - 15.

I'm fine with Crameri as a target. Everyone seems to be focused on us needing to pursue a key position forward. Sure it would be nice to have one but it's not necessarily a bad thing to have a forwardline of similar type players. So what if Crameri is similar to Stringer? Imagine opposition coaches trying to match up with a rotating forwardline containing Crameri, Stringer, Grant and Jones...with big Tom in the goalsquare. Tall mobile forwards are nightmare matchups for any club.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

Crameri will replace Gia in the forward line. Hard working lead up player. Gia will most likely start to take on the coaching role as the season progresses.

Just my thoughts if we get Crameri.

Yep, he toured the facilities. I saw him out on the ground.

Crameri is quick for his size to, so as others have stated he is a difficult match up. You need a mid-sized back 6'3-6'4 who is quick enough and can run all day. And they'll also need to be able to defend well because Crameri has some smarts re. positioning and body work/movement.

Stringer is a more talented player already but both Stringer and Crameri in the forward line will be a nightmare for the opposition.

I'm happy to bypass him though and throw the sink at Patton as above.
But then again, I'm an Internet poster and Bevo is a premiership coach so draw your own conclusions.

At the asking price for Crameri, he will get to us in the PSD. I wonder if we could convince him to walk if they don't accept our 3rd rounder?

I doubt it. From what I can gather if Essendon throw another year on top of their offer he'll stay. I doubt he'll try to put them over a barrel but I hope he does!

Then we move onto Patton. I'm more excited by the idea of Big John in the tri colours.

I don't think making a player screw his ex team over should be the prerequisite of a player coming to the club. He wants to come here and if he decides to sign our offer it's out of Crameri's hands and up to both teams to come up with something that suits.

I'd rather Patton as well and who's to say getting both is out of the question?

Would everybody be happy if we traded our first 2 picks for Patton & Docherty/Crameri (+ possible sweeteners) and not have a pick inside the first 2 rounds?

I can't see how we could get all 3.

Docherty could be a drop from pick 4 to pick 11. But then Brisbane use 4 on Patton...
So if we prioritise Patton, I'm not sure the currency we have to get Docherty. 22 would be a steal. Wood and 22??
Crameri's fair value is our second rounder. I don't see him walking out to the PSD unfortunately.
If Saints go after Patton, then we could get into giving players too.

                            My guess:

                            Scharenberg and Crameri (good)
Docherty, Dom Sheed and Crameri (better)
                            Patton and Crameri (not sure)
                            Patton and Docherty (outside chance)

But to your question, it's seems there could be some logic, but Rawlings, Street and Koops say hello.

I'd prefer to keep a pick in the first 2 rounds and use it on the best mid available. I just don't think our midfield is deep enough yet.

Patton plus drafting a good young mid would be the ideal scenario.
