If it was Patton (pick 4) and Crameri (early 2nd rd pick), there no reason why Wood wouldn't be able to secure us a late 1st/early 2nd rd at least. That could be used to get a promising player that's slipped hopefully (Garlett/Sheed)

That was Jay Clark that wrote that. Tweet him directly and try and get him to start one @ClarkyHeraldSun

I liked Stevo's response to his article.

        I'd be very, very content.

Patton for pick 4 would be a great result, Crameri/Docherty for 22 + sweetner would further improve our side. It means our forward half would be near complete for the next 5 or so years. Patton, Crameri, Stringer, Grant, Dahl, Hunter with the likes of Higgins, Grant and Jones rotating through there is electric.

Docherty would be a good get too, a quick, skillful running half back is certainly a requirement given Murphy/Goodes are near the end and Wood is still largely an uncertainty.

I'm never usually a fan of trading away early picks, especially not both, but in this scenario it would be terrific. We'd still require another skillful outside mid but that will be easier to find that players like Patton/Crameri.

That's how I look at it. If they put up a fourth year, I reckon he'll stay.
I think it's more about forward options than anything else, and having three or four difficult match ups . Reckon Stringer will play more midfield in future years, as big bodied tall mids are all the rage.( hello Freo). Gotta say with all the heartburn, it would be hard to judge any Essendon player this season.

Just believed we lack a powerhouse forward and suggested Crameri and that we needed a key defender to partner Roughead. He didn't have Talia in our best 22.

On Crameri, he referred to him as an icing on the cake footballer not the chocolate pudding.

I haven't seen much of Delaney, but agree we need another key defender.

IMO we need two and not sure who is available but all considerations are open.

I would assume if we wanted him we hopefully are already talking to him, as St.Kilda are pretty much on the front foot by all accounts if you believe the media reports.

I don't rate Delaney at all.

I don't think a key defender is a big need, though one really good one would be nice so we can release Roughead. I see Roberts more as a defender and Williams as well. Good key forwards are our main problem.

A "good" tall defender is needed. Delaney doesn't meet that requirement.
I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken.

                              Agreed Delaney is just average.

Interesting watching TAC future stars , Wallace had a list of players that he thinks are up for trade.
Had Patton amongst the players under 24, and us as the club targeting him.
                                Would they conceivably trade him?
                                I'd be staggered.
