Lets get down to Ethiad on sunday and barrack for our team. They have done an outstanding job this year.
It was a fabulous win yesterday over Port Melbourne. Had a wonderful day cheering on our boys in beautiful sunshine. GO DOGS!

What a shocking rule if Cyril or McEvoy are allowed to play for them. I assume that means we get Will and Dahlhaus to play for us to cancel it out?

I understand the logistics that it's not fair on those players if they're not allowed to press for selection...but it's a grand final of a comp they haven't been involved in. They wouldn't deserve the Premiership medal if they got it.

Can't see Hawthorn playing Cyril in the twos. It'll be all or none with him. As for Mcevoy, if he isn't promoted
to play in Hawthorn senior team on Saturday I have no problem with him playing for Box Hill sunday.

I live fairly close to Box Hill and go through there most days during the week to get to Deakin Uni with the bus. I hope we can beat the reigning VFL premiers on Sunday and stop the double from occurring as Hawthorn are still in the hunt for an AFL premiership. Carn the Mighty Scraggers!! Lets claim a premiership!

I live fairly close to Box Hill and go through there most days during the week to get to Deakin Uni with the bus. They might be going for a double Eastie but we can better that because we are going for a hatrick. We won this comp the last two times we competed in it, 1923 and 1924.

Yep it would be great if we could do it. Yep the VFA being the 2nd tier comp and the VFL being the premier competition back in the day.

The AFL is just the old VFL with various bits that have been nailed on over the years. All the surviving VFA clubs play in this competition.

VFL is the old VFA with new improved clubs. Like you say it's a level below the top level of Australian Rules football.

So it's hatrick on.

I can certainly see Hawthorn giving Rioli a run with Box Hill. It gives him some much needed match practice and find out if his body will stand up before selecting him in the senior grand final.

So they're assuming they beat port? Can't agree sorry, if Cyril is in their best 22 he plays.

I think so as well Slim but I hope he plays Sunday. If he does play VFL they're obviously not confident he can hold up so he'll play sparingly apart from a few flashes you'll hardly see him.

You'd think Box Hill might have a thing or two to say about having a player who'll only play in 'flashes' in a Grand Final. After all, its their club.

If Hawthorn don't like it they can follow our lead and establish their own VFL team.

You'd think Box Hill might have a thing or two to say about having a player who'll only play in 'flashes' in a Grand Final. After all, its their club.

If Hawthorn don't like it they can follow our lead and establish their own VFL team.

It would be pretty good for us if Box Hill have a player that only plays a few five minute bursts.

Footscray will meet the Box Hill Hawks in next Sunday’s Peter Jackson VFL Grand Final at Etihad Stadium.
The Bulldogs progressed after a 32-point preliminary final victory over minor premiers Port Melbourne on Saturday, while the reigning premiers Box Hill scraped home in a seven-point victory over Williamstown in Sunday’s preliminary final.

Tickets for the 2014 Peter Jackson VFL Grand Final go on-sale 9:00am, Monday 15 September 2014 via Ticketmaster, or can be purchased on the gate at Etihad Stadium on match day.

Adults tickets cost $20, concessions $15, and children 12 years and under are free.
