For mine, Jong wouldn't have been very far behind Goodes as BOG. Not very far at all, was outstanding. Even his disposal was generally good.

Did like a few of the boys today - Tutt had a great second half, JJ showed some real signs, I really like the way Darley uses the ball (he will be the player we wanted Howard to be), the good Grant played the second half and Talia really showed a lot today.
Austin had some nice spoils, and I did like Russell's game except for 1-2 poor decisions. I'd be happy enough he he captained next year.

Find it quite ironic that I can watch womens soccer,NFL or for that matter any other sport that is happening around the World but not the VFA.

The Radio reported just over 23,000 at the game today and most of them were Bulldogs.

Wow. That was just the most fun I've had at a football game for a very long time. Thanks to Bornadog, FTODM, Twodogs, Pembleton and Rocco Jones for the company. Chops and Sockeye were even there. Was a wonderful catch up. Our version of 'getting the band back together.

A few have asked about Jong. He was incredible today. Simply incredible. Explosive From the contest when he won the ball, relentless at the ball carrier when he didn't. Made good decisions. Used the ball well. We have a real gem on our hands.

JJ s run was outstanding. Talia was rock solid. Darley competed gard and used the ball well. Dickson loojed dangerous whenever he went near it. Tutt really lifted in the last. Pearce shoed a lot of fight. How Goodes and Redpath didn't kill anyone with some of their hits is beyond me. Big Jack's effort to level it up was enormous. Tackling was relentless all day.

Jones. Jones. Oh that Jones boy. We absolutely CANNOT lose him. Far too good for this level of football. The day will come when he will tear the AFL apart and I'll be damned if it's in any colours but ours.

3 goals down early in last qtr I thought we were gone.

I thought Redpath's tackle in last qtr & goal were crucial - big guy with a big heart.

Jong was a real standout especially in last half - a cut above the rest. Goodes good all qtrs. Agree Cordy's tap outs in last qtr helped turn things for us. Jones mark in defence in last qtr was as important as the goals. Dickson looked like like a Gia clone around goals in second half. Howard goal from a tight angle in last qtr was a beauty.

I patted Jones on back at end - I think he was being interviewed at the time and and asked him to "sign the contract" - let's hope he does & that he also takes confidence out of today.

The cheersquad and crowd chanting were the best I've heard incl. AFL games.

Every single player was involved in at least a couple of important moments today.

It was massive. Had absolutely no right to mark that ball but somehow brought it down.

So many big moments.

I am pretty sure he did, although I will have to watch the replay at least 3 times to confirm!

I hope he listens to you! My immediate reaction after the game was, how could he leave after that? It obviously meant so much to him and all the boys getting around him.
