Coronavirus Info & Helpful Direction

A couple of posters suggested a thread like this the other day, so I thought I’d start one.

I know we have lawyers, accountants & finance people (who might get circulated pro fact sheets or breakdown some of the financial concepts - not giving independent advice), ideas people and people doing their own research about the actual impacts to people, workers and businesses. Plus existing support services and new government programs to help folks out. Since what we do best is share knowledge, public info and news with each other for our community benefit, perhaps if you come across anything that is succinct and helpful post it here. Remembering that quality content is much better than quantity of content.

This forum worked together to get everyone on WOOF a 2016 Premiership Ticket. So we have already proven that we can do the impossible working for and with each other!

If anyone is considering this please think very carefully about it and only do it if absolutely necessary.

I'm an accountant if anybody needs to be pointed in the right direction, particularly with the available help for small and medium business.

My GF is a naturopath (and 3 time cancer survivor) and has suggested some practical and natural methods to boost our immune systems and keep our bodies at alkaline levels - when our bodies are alkaline foreign viruses find it almost impossible to survive.

Chlorophyll
Olive leaf extract
Acidophilus
Apple cider vinegar
Bi-carb soda
Green juices - eg: celery, green apple, coriander
Ginger
Tumeric
Lemons
Fresh garlic (not the bleached stuff from overseas)
Fresh beetroot

The first 3 are easily available at any chemist. Good luck everyone

Flu injection is available. I am booked in at Priceline, but it is also available at Chemist Warehouse and also check your GP.

Check the department of health recommendations - it is generally recommended to get the flu shot from mid April. The effectiveness can start to wane after 3-4 months which may leave you vulnerable towards the end of peak flu season from June-September.

I mentioned the flu vacc to my doctor once in April and he laughed and said "You always tell me that you are a cynic" and "All the vaccs they do early in the season are leftovers from last year and they run out."

The problem with going with the flu shot this early is it will most likely not get you through the season and the booster might be harder to obtain. Might be worth asking the question
