In Vietnam where I've been living for the better part of two years you can't just go to the emergency/clinic/GP etc. and tell them you have tonsillitis even when you know you have it, you have to go through all ranges of tests. One of them is the Brain Toucher.

To suggest it's unpleasant is an understatement. I'm glad as a guy that's about as uncomfortable as it gets.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Brain toucher? I've asked the medical staff here what that is but nobody is sure. They think it might be something like the covid test but deeper?

Re: Coronavirus Info & Helpful Direction

Here comes the inconvenience of Covid 19.
I ran out out general purpose dusk masks as I wanted to do some handy man work which involved some sanding.
Can't buy them anywhere that would just involve a quick drive.
I have a heavy duty respirator which I can use so its not the end of the world but how many people doing such jobs are compromising there health because they can't access the necessary PPE.
It would interesting to know if there is an increase in lung disorders later down the track when all this is over.
Because when your self isolating you start doing all those jobs around the house that you have put off.
            Don't piss off old people

One in the same TD. It just goes so far back that it feels like your brain is being sampled.

I think that I'd rather die. I like my brain untouched thanks.

Re: Coronavirus Info & Helpful Direction

What have you learned about yourself over the last 10 weeks of isolation? What activities have you done that you might not have previously?

I thought I'd watch a lot more Netflix than I have which has been about the same as normal and I thought I'd work more hours at my job but I've been able to keep that well under check.

Getting into a routine each day more than I ever have before and a setting up daily checklists have been great for my motivation.
Clearing things form each room in the house that haven't been used in a while has provided some sense of achievement and exercising and cooking more are great activities to keep the mind focused.
I've also completed some online courses and taught myself some skills that will hopefully help me perform my work duties better in the future. Connecting with friends and colleagues is also very important

All in all, I've tried to use this time productively. Missing footy is a substantial challenge but if you have a balanced plan in place it does help.

I'd be interested to hear how others here on WOOF are utilizing their time?

Re: Coronavirus Info & Helpful Direction

I have been working from home for over 13 years now, so the week hasn't been that much different than what I have done in the past. Weekends of course are very different and I wish I had been doing more with tiding up the place - more inside cupboards than anything, but I guess what you don't see you tend to put off. I have been walking alot, and making sure that every day I do at minimum an hours walk.

TV wise, I have watched some old Dogs matches and enjoyed a few games. I only keep winning games and only watch the winning games on foxtel.

I feel simultaneously like I've done more and done less.

I've managed to fit my half load into one day of uni, rather than two - listening to lectures either at night or putting the four year old in front of back to back episodes of Play School while the one year old napped and listening then. I've done a heap more housework, in part because there is more mess and we are also around the house much more.

And we've all cycled. A lot. Slow rides with just the kids of weekdays and then hooking the four year old up to the trail-gator on weekends and going for much bigger (and faster) ones. And I've started using the gym gear in our garage - a suspension trainer, chin up bar and rented spin bike - more often, but that's also coincided with the one year old sleeping a bit more during the night as I'm a 5.30am gym-er, otherwise it doesn't get done.

I feel like down time has gone though. Like every moment needs to be useful or it puts me back. And that husband and I have played a lot of handball with the kids - he minds them while I do something and vice versa. At night we're both pretty cooked - he's working 11 hour days as a minimum at the moment, but he still has a job and I'm so thankful for that.

I'm looking forward to being able to get a baby sitter again and just the two of us having some quiet time together again!

I'm only working three days a week, so I've focused all my spare time on working on my future small business and are getting products tested and tasted. Mainly by friends and family but I've picked up a couple of wholesale customers and businesses too. I'm excited for when this finely ends.
