One of the closer ones does a good hamburger, sensational chips, excellent grilled fish and homemade salads but the dim sims and potato cakes are awful, not even close to the mark. I haven't had the dim sims from there for a long while now
It's also an expensive shop compared to others but given it's often busy most people must rate it

There is another very good one that doesn't make a great hamburger but the fish and salads really stands out. It's also a busy shop

There are 4 others with three of them having long term owners (family businesses) and another that has just change owners
They're are all decent options but the big failing is that a couple of them really do not try and build a rapport with their customers
A bit of chat with the customers as they wait for their meal would benefit their business.
Home made salad is the easiest meal you can make yourself G. Can't remember ever buying one from a Fish n Chip shop. By the way "George's"...great name for a F & C shop and he is Greek...is the best I've come across in Rosebud.

I can make everything better than what I can buy from a fish and chip shop including homemade coleslaw and potato salad etc but it's not a bad alternative if you are rushed or a better way of looking at it if you have planned poorly.
