The owner likes the footy too. He has photos of various footy players from teams on the wall didn't see any Bulldogs players up there but hey we usually have a good brief talk about the Bulldogs and he talks a bit about the Blues as he is a Carlton supporter.

Thought I'll give this thread a bump. So any more woofers who may have moved around have some good fish and chip recommendations and experiences.

I buy Whiting fish now from my local fish shop. Very good fish.

To buy King George Whiting to cook at home you now have to pay something like $75 per Kg. Crazy price.

Re: Best Fish and Chips in Melbourne

My local fish and chip shop has recently changed hands. The old owner George said he was very confident in handing the business over and so far they haven't dissapointed. The chips are very good maybe a bit better than before actually. They have retained a 1 or 2 of the old workers who worked under George for the time being which is a very smart move.

Be careful Easty. Quite often when new people take fish shops over everything goes well for a while and then they start to think of some ideas of their own. This isn't a bad thing necessarily unless the ideas centre around where they can save a dollar.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I live not too far from there. Sorry Easty, but the worse F&C I have ever had. Very greasy.

I hate really greasy fish & chips. It just spoils the food.

We have just changed our usual fish and chip shop from Sommerville rd to the one in Geelong rd across the road from Apex Belting.
