Good point. I think that the brutality of the show needed to be in a men's prison.

Started watching the Swedish series "Midnight Sun". You can catch it on SBS on demand. Interesting so far as welll as a bit weird.

A mate of mine used to wait till his wife went to bed and then watched it with his young sons.

Toughened them up so that they ready for Breaking Bad.

Heh! My daughter has gone to Tassie to spend some time with her mum so it was me and my son watched our way through Oz. and we didn't have to wait for anyone to go to bed!
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Was Vern Schillinger your son's favourite character? He was mine.

The Americans is a show for your older smarter viewer who knows some history from the Reagan era.

                  So many memorable moments:

                  - One of the most exciting but slowest car chases you'll see
                  - Phillip slowly and gently pulling out his wife's broken teeth with a pair of pliers
                  - The scrumptious double agent Nina and her fate in the Soviet justice system
                  - The two spies cleaning up after a murder in bed of a blonde by an Iranian they want to turn. Very slowly and methodically before your eyes the two spies break all the nude blonde's limbs and fit her into a large suitcase to dispose of the body.
                  - The American technologies they chase: stealth fighters, the internet, biological weapons and many more
                  - The reversal of everything now: you are rooting for Russian spies. The Russians are fighting the mujahideen in Afghanistan. The CIA are supporting the mujahideen in Afghanistan.
                  - The tension of watching the FBI counter intelligence section hunting our heroes, while one of the FBI lives across the street.

If you haven't caught this yet, give it go. Series 1 can be slow, then it just lights up and flies after that.

                  Brilliant show.

Well I don't fit the description of the viewer being a Millennial (I'd like to think I'm still smart though) but I'm familiar enough with the history to get by (Contras, that time a computer malfunction should have destroyed the world in a nuclear war but 1 guy thought better of it etc)

Aside from the great spy stuff it's also great to see
                      a) The stress and turmoil it places on the agents and how it strains their loyalty as they're asked to do more dangerous/reckless/morally questionable things.
                      b) the marriage of the two spys and the nature of their relationship
                      c) the impact and implications for their children. (The actress who plays their daughter is fantastic BTW)

I think he is more of a Ryan O'Riley fan but I'll ask him. He mentioned the Rev Clutier being bricked up in that wall by the bikies yesterday.
