There are some OJ Simpson doco's on at the moment on Foxtel. Well worth a watch if it's your cuppa, I've now got no idea how he beat the murder charge, the evidence is so powerful.

Watching it too BT. Just unbelievable with all the evidence how he escaped the charges. Hard to fathom.

Hard to fathom in deed, impossible. Having the background, I feel for the detectives (as well as family of course). Their brief of evidence was near flawlessly perfect and they knew he did it, but didn't get the conviction. That injustice is hard to swallow.

My recollection is that OJs defence found that the cop who found a lot of the key evidence (Furman?) was an active racist (had voice recordings of him saying pretty wild, racist stuff) and basically had him perjuring himself denying this.
Once they established this, all the evidence he found (the glove etc) was tainted, essentially worthless, and reasonable doubt was created. Not saying its right, but can understand it from a strict legal perspective.
The whole racism aspect within the US police force is a massive issue over there.

Seinfeld discussed the main issue with 'the balm' (who told you to the balm on?).
OJ didn't take his arthritis meds for 6 weeks before knowing about putting the murder gloves on his hands. Obviously, his hands swelled up and didn't fit inside them. Ergo, not his gloves. His lawyers said this was the tipping point of being able to say the murderer wore the gloves. OJ couldn't wear the gloves. OJ is not the murderer. Despite everything else being overwhelmingly strong.

I suppose that's the risk you run with a jury trial (in the US particularly) and a celebrity accused.
Yep, not too many major celebs done by jury. Michael Jackson, OJ... Although Winona Ryder got done...
I still want to know what happened to Natalie Wood too.

And Robert Wagner. All three on a boat. A wife, a husband and a purported lover. One dead. Accidental falling over?
