So we all had a good day.

I did. I found a good burger joint... but they don't have a liquour licence. So we had to go to a local wine bar, where they let you bring in outside food while you drink.

Yep - just as dangerous as having pho for lunch in business clothes, just like I did.

The dry cleaning bill is more than the pho!

I laughed and now just realised it's not just me too!!! The first few times a went to my haunt in Springvale I was wearing a white t-shirt which was completely covered if not nearly drenched in the soup by the end. So now with Pho it's an old dark t-shirt to hide the evidence as no matter how hard I try I just can't master eating it elegantly or even properly.

By-the-by, as there is no Pho in bendigo I tried a new liquid Pho mix from Coles. It's not going to win awards, but it is so much better than some junk places who don't really speciliaise in it.

Where are you going?

Might be going on holiday to San Francisco over the summer break.

Cool - I haven't been, but have heard it is really really good. You should also go to New York whilst you are there. If you go during our summer it will be cold.

I've been to both San Francisco and New York before in 2008. New York is a huge city with heaps to do there. Also went to Chicago in 2008 after New York. Was very cold in Chicago when I went.

Yep, that's my only bet. I thought of making the stick from scratch and saw a picket mix of the main flavours is a paste/sauce. So I gave it a try and it was actually very good. With fresh herbs and bean shoots and good chilli and hoisin it was better than my last pho in the city. I'm heading down to Melbourne shortly so I'm trying to squeeze in a detour to Springvale for a bowl of soup.

My son is in Chicago ATM. He's on a trip all the way around America with his mum.
