I'd have thought it was a fairly standard 250-300 run test match innings so far. One player puts in a solid tonne like innings, another couple contribute with half tonne type innings and good balls get the rest with the odd silly bat decision (run out etc.).

I'll take this over the tripe served up in recent digs.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Only losing 6 wickets in 3 and a half sessions is a good performance. Khawaja has been oustanding and the bowling's been pretty good.

Bit hard to say that when the players barely play shield games now .

Outstanding batting from Usman . The Aussies finally showed a bit of resilience, all a little to late .
Good to see some fresh blood, but would have liked White ahead of Maddinson

He's been on the field for all 18 hours. He's one fit athlete.

I thought so too. Also it's one thing for it to happen but then to write an article in the paper about it compounds it a bit. I wouldn't be yelling about from the rooftops if I did it.

Wade has not been in form, I like him a lot but said last week that he shouldn't get picked because of how bad he has been.

This hasn't been fantastic but taking everything into account I'd say we have done OK.
Agree with all that. A mini collapse a couple of disappointing individual results but the stupidity and suicidal tendencies were left in the sheds mostly.

Kawaja has improved his fielding considerably since last summer.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

That's generally a normal scorecard in cricket . Usually a few miss out .

Khawaja's ton is the best in recent times by an Aussie (not that he had much competition). Thrown into a tough spot with the early declaration and has shown a steely backbone.

He's peeled off easier centuries but this is his best effort. I was listening to some of the commentary yesterday and they mentioned he had played very few poor shots. This is what he is capable of and I hope it's a great lesson for him. You don't necessarily need to be scoring quickly to play a great innings.

When was the last time an Aussie batsmen batted for an entire day?

Good question, probably not that long ago. Khawaja might be a chance to 'carry the bat'

Be lovely to see Khawaja go on and get a really big one. Could be the first Australian batsman to be unexpectedly thrown up the order and respond with a double century since Jason Gillespie.

I've long said Starc is our all rounder on bowling and batting averages. Good 50 today.

Looks like the South Africans have decided to dead-bat the last session. All about retaining wickets under lights. I think this is the way they game will go.

That's a beautyyyyy from Lyon. Set him up outside off, then darted in the arm ball to castle Duminy.
