The diabolical MCG pitch is largely to blame for all those draws, near impossible to get a result on these days. Surely the MCC has the money and resources to get it right.

Queensland look near certainties for the final.

It would appear that Victoria or Tasmania will get the other spot and it will be decided by their clash in the last round at Bellerive.

Victoria need to get over NSW in the next round at Junction Oval. Tasmania should get the better of South Australia in Hobart, although both matches are likely to be competitive.

If they both win this week the final round is virtually an elimination final.

How many rounds/matches does the season run for? Is it 10 rounds? Home and away.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

Yes 10 rounds. There are 2 matches to go before the final.

Thanking you. Is the .67 point gap between us and Tassie significant enough to give us an advantage or is it negligible?

              Aren't we going for 4 in a row ?
Other states will be sweating on us not making it.

We are going for a fourpeat, yes.

The gap is insignificant and would only be relevant in the event of a drawn game between the 2. That might see them both miss the final.

It certainly is an interesting system. Who came up with, do you know?

It seems as if it's been designed by committee to me,

No idea, but agree it looks like a committee decision.

I don't see where the old system was wrong when it was simply 4 points for first innings and 10 for outright and you could easily understand how the table had evolved. Net Rate Rate is the cricket equivalent of percentage and sorts out teams on equal points.

                        Vics v NSW

Sean Abbott has struck Will Pucovski on the helmet. Sean visibly upset, Will has been subbed out and replaced.

Shit that sounds bad. I hope Pucovski is OK. I hope Abbott is OK too come to that. It would bring back some awful memories for him.

Vics need one wicket to win outright, NSW need 23 runs. Close finish, plenty at stake.
