Vics have moved to second from sixth. Lost only one game but 5 draws. Qld also very strong with one loss.
The diabolical MCG pitch is largely to blame for all those draws, near impossible to get a result on these days. Surely the MCC has the money and resources to get it right.
It would appear that Victoria or Tasmania will get the other spot and it will be decided by their clash in the last round at Bellerive.
Victoria need to get over NSW in the next round at Junction Oval. Tasmania should get the better of South Australia in Hobart, although both matches are likely to be competitive.
If they both win this week the final round is virtually an elimination final.

No idea, but agree it looks like a committee decision.
I don't see where the old system was wrong when it was simply 4 points for first innings and 10 for outright and you could easily understand how the table had evolved. Net Rate Rate is the cricket equivalent of percentage and sorts out teams on equal points.
