Probably as good a squad as could be hoped for.

There are a few like Langerak who can feel hard done by, and some others might rightly feel like they are just as good as some of those selected, but equally i don't think those omitted could argue that they are actually better.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

      Looking forward to seeing Kuol.

Only watched him v Western United a few weeks ago, and some highlights from last week, but he looks a real talent.

It's nice to have a young striker with some ability coming through for a change. As usual with the Australian men's team though, it's hard to see where the goals will come from against top line competition.

I had absolutely zero expectations about qualitfying, let along having an impact at the World Cup. Arnie did a brilliant job in the final stages of sudden death qualifiers to get us through, and I am no fan of his.

I'm just going to enjoy these 3 matches and see where it take us. Who knows, we could steal a result here or there.

Yeah, it's a very thin squad, pretty out of their depth at this level.

I look at the squad and wonder how we made it.........

But we did so may as well enjoy it without worrying too much about the results.
              TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

What a mess this tournament is. Still amazed this shambles was allowed to happen.

Thanks for sharing. What a complete shithead.

I have really struggled with the WC over time, from the over-technical (when it suits) refereeing to the overt corruption of FIFA. It's just not a very "nice" tournament.

Post COVID I've wanted to try and be less cynical and try and appreciate things as they are, but this iteration of the tournament is going to be really difficult to put up with.

Wow. What a knob. The old ‘look at others wrongdoings’ argument over time before criticising what is happening under our watch. When the leader of one of most powerful organisations brings that argument to the table you know the world is in a shit place.

I love the World Cup and everything about it but gee I am struggling with this one. I know I will watch loads of games and I know that I will be strongly hoping for a Netherlands/ Australia victory. Part of me feels like boycotting the whole event. It is a dilemma I struggle with.

Yep, the last world cup final was a classic example of it.

Benzema injured and out of the tournament for France. I mean, I still don’t think we can handle the French in any way, but that’s one less player we have to worry about

A joint statement from the Football Associations of England, Wales, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland about the One Love armband: "Fifa has been very clear that it will impose sporting sanctions if our captains wear the armbands on the field of play. As national federations, we can’t put our players in a position where they could face sporting sanctions including bookings, so we have asked the captains not to attempt to wear the armbands in Fifa World Cup games.

"We were prepared to pay fines that would normally apply to breaches of kit regulations and had a strong commitment to wearing the armband. However, we cannot put our players in the situation where they might be booked or even forced to leave the field of play.

"We are very frustrated by the Fifa decision which we believe is unprecedented – we wrote to Fifa in September informing them of our wish to wear the One Love armband to actively support inclusion in football, and had no response. Our players and coaches are disappointed – they are strong supporters of inclusion and will show support in other ways."

I get it and don’t at the same time. The UK sell billions in weapons to Qatar so it does feel a little hollow.

Probably got the publicity they wanted, not as good as shredding 10k but still good.
