    Re: ASHES 2023 - 2nd TEST JUNE 28 - JULY 3, LORDS

Have I been in a trance of shit half track nightmare bowling the past hour or two? My god.

Seamer as captain thinks only a seamer can get us out of this mess. How a spinner hasn't been chucked in to mix it up is unbelievable.
    TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

We win by 43 runs and go 2-0 up in the series.

Stokes was looking dangerous for sure and once we got him out it was a big turning point in the match.

Just makes the win that much sweeter.

Good to see the old farts in the long room are no better behaved than the yobbos in Bay 13, all those years ago. Obviously, the exchange rate is one English G&T equals half a dozen Vic Bitter stubbies.

As they were getting a few runs for the 10th wicket I thought of the Centenary test of 1977.

Australia won that by 45 after winning the inaugural test of 1877 by 45 runs.

Doug Walters famous quote went something like "100 bloody years and the Poms haven't improved by a single run"

It seems that 46 years on they have made 2 runs progress.

McCullum: We’d never take a wicket like that

Article I’m reading: Both Bairstow & McCullum have dismissed batsmen in the exact same way

Wow, imagine Gideon Haigh of all people calling people "puce faced dim bulb snobs". Insert Spiderman meme here.

I mean, he's not wrong, but come on.

It's like a mankad. You technically can do it, however you're a massive flog if you do.

Which part? The part where over is not called, the ball is coming at your stumps as a live ball and you wander down the pitch?

What’s next? Upset is there’s a run out and the English player hasn’t grounded his bat but it was over the line? Because, you know, he made the distance so what does being grounded in your crease really mean?

I don’t understand the fuss, quite honestly.
