If 2 coaches have been sacked due to player disenchantment and both of them have achieved above-average results in tournament football during their tenure (I respect your position that Gustavsson should have achieved what he did or more due to talent available - you're a more avid watcher of the Matildas than I am), perhaps there is a culture issue within the playing group that hasn't been properly addressed?

Assuming your position is correct and there is sufficient elite talent in the squad to be a powerhouse contender in tournament football, why did they have bronze statues erected in their honour after finishing 4th in the World Cup?

Agree. Sounds like the players got Stajcic sacked prior a tournament. I think TG walked before being shown the door.
It’s a hard job, seems it’s more about balancing egos than getting the best out the talent, tactics and formations.

I can't get past the paywall but I do know people are very horny to be transphobic, to the point of it turning into misogyny. Thanks Elon for making sure we megaphone that out into the world.

This is a fantastic story:

Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped, thinking he had completed the race. A Spanish runner, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him and, realizing what was happening, started shouting at the Kenyan to continue running.

Mutai didn't know Spanish and didn't understand. Realizing what was taking place, Fernandez pushed Mutai to victory.A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?" I admit I have haven’t even looked or read about this much. My bad it was probably wrong.
Saying that the other women cried cause she lost and that happens all the time.
