Wow. Just wow.

It looked all over. It was over. In the 98th minute. What a run from Califiori. Puts a through ball to Zaccagni.

Zaccagni with the last kick of the game, slots it into the top right corner doing his best Del Piero impersonation from the World Cup Semi Final against Germany, also in Germany.

What a way to score your first international goal!!!!!!

Zaccagni: "Serata bellissima che porter? sempre con me. Da piccolino tenevo il poster di Del Piero in cameretta"

Zaccagni after the game. Translation. it was beautiful to me, because when I was a child I had a poster of Del Piero on my bedroom wall.

Insane! That's why it's the greatest sport on the planet and the euros the best tournament. Have to feel for the Croatians they were in a tough group.

Group D

Austria 1st. Came into the tournament with some great form and have continued this to win the group over their more fancied opponents in France and the Netherlands. Watch out tournament- Rangnick has them firing.
France 2nd - sluggish and haven?t scored a goal in open play. But are through and a threat.
Netherlands 3rd - letting opponents control the game and then having to fight hard to get back into it. Will now face one of the Group winners. Tough but also tough for the group winner.

Got up at 2am to watch Holland play Austria- disappointing for me but enjoyed the game. Austria dominated early, the Dutch got on top shortly after the break and then let Austria back into it. Netherlands equalised and then Austria slotted home a winner shortly thereafter- van Dijk stuffed up the offside trap.

At one stage Austria were on top then France, then Netherlands, Austria again then Netherlands then Austria once more. Absorbing and no last minute equalisers.

Then there was Group C - only watched the 2nd half of Serbia v Denmark. Serbia disappointing.

Both games 0-0. Anyone catch England v Slovenia- sounds like both teams going through the motions.

All top 3 teams should get through but (I think) Slovenia could still miss out.

So we now have pre tournament heavyweights Germany, Spain, France and Portugual all on the one side of the draw.

So far we have confirmed Italy, Switzerland, Austria and England on the other side (with the first place of Group E also to join them where we currently have Romania, Belgium, Slovakia and Ukraine all on three points).

It definiltey looks lopsided to me.

Bizarrely all teams finish on 4 points with the top 3 qualifying

Romania
Belgium
Slovakia

Ukraine missing out on goal difference. Caught a bit of the Romania v Slovakia games. Good flowing football but neither will be a threat.

Group F
In the biggest upset of the tournament thus far Georgia defeated Portugal 2-0 thus meaning they qualify in 3rd place. No doubt Portugal took it (relatively) easy given they were likely to qualify first. That takes nothing away from Georgia - what a performance. Watch out England. In the other game Turkey beat Czechia 2-1 to finish 2nd.

Haha Cucurella has actually turned back in to a good footballer again. Carrying on this form through the Euros.
