To be fair, I was talking that game up on the strength of the style both teams have played which has been pretty exciting. A lot of the “big boys” have played shit boring football

It's Cup football, prone to some shit boringness but also makes the highs really stand out.

Haven't really taken interest outside of highlights to this point, but now we're out of the group stage will be watching.

Absolutely embarassing from Italy this morning. Has to be one of the worst performances I have ever seen by them in a major tournament.

I think it is fair to question the quality of the players, but that does not explain how poor performance was. Zero organsiation and just completely out worked with a superior strategy by the Swiss. Spaletti made six changes to the lineup from the Croatia game! Six. That is like Bevo making 13 changes to the team from one week to the next!

Spaletti was searching for a team identity every single match. Zero consistentcy in lineup, formation or tactics. What a mess. This isn't a golden generation that has the quality or leadership of players in generations gone past like Baggo, Maldini, Cannavaro, Totti, Del Piero, Chiellini or Vieri but it is not as bad as it showed in this tournament.

Slovakia up at HT. England are clueless going forward. Lots of possession and passing - the Slovaks sit back and wait for mistake and bang, counter. Great sequence of swift ball movement led to the goal with Walker playing Schranz onside. Poor defending.
