All starting to come together for us, our front line looks menacing. Maresca has us playing some nice football.

Just need to find a way to fix Reece James hamstring.
    The curse is dead.

Well got the Watkins bit half right but nailed the score line. Frustratingly we absolutely bossed the game for 60 minutes. Down to one and a bit Centre Backs now.

We've got some issues at the Toon. Gordon looks like he doesn't want to be there after his dream of Liverpool was close in the transfer window, Howe has gone away from the high press and our ability to defend the midfield is lacking (teams are waltzing through) and we have a different starting line up each game.
The PSR issues and instability off field seem to have rippled through.
Sounds odd to say when a win puts us top however we've had an easy ish start and haven't been convincing.

Be an interesting watch to see if Howe retains the support of the Saudi overlords.
I went to sleep after their first goal. Way too easily scored.

Got a few angry text messages throughout the game from my brother about how poor our defending was.
        TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Frustrating 0-0 draw for us against Palace.

Had more than enough chances to win but didn't take them.

Also frustrating Easty with a 2-2 draw.

Played the second half with a man down and leading 2-1, then City strike in the 98th minute

Watched the highlights. City certainly were having a lot of chances in the 2nd half and scored in the end but it would have been bitterly disappointing that you guys couldn't hold on to get the win. You defended very well and it would have been a famous win had you won.

Which makes it even more impressive that you guys held them out and nearly got the win.

30 shots City had that's a fair defensive effort.

I can't really explain how nice it is to put a gritty performance in at home against a Man City side that went up on a lapse.

Gordon was caught on his left, but dragged his right and that's all the commentariat are focusing on. Joele was definitely fouled in the box, and there were other numerous dicey Man City incidents that went unpunished.

The mollycoddling of the big clubs in the Premier League is out of control. There should have been a clear red against Man City in the last five minutes on a sliding tackle. Every little touch went their way.

Fantastic draw, if that's such a thing. All the commentary was about who was missing for Man City, we had both our nines out.

How long do you think O?Neil will last? Did well last year but the current situation indicates all is not good. Hopefully they can work their way out of the current predicament.

Given they signed him to a contract extension prior to the season, I think he’ll have some latitude, but there is some worrying signs. Main one is that they were thin on centre backs to start the season after selling Kilman and have had injuries in that position including a season ended to Mosquera who had been growing into the role pretty well. Consequently they’re leaking goals like nobody’s business.
They’ve also had a tough fixture, but they’ve got points against a lot of these teams before, so to only have one isn’t good enough. O’Neil’s insistence on playing a 4 while we get heavily scored against might be his biggest mistake that will come back to bite him.

We have played some very good football at times although probably aren’t creating enough chances when we dominate on the ball. Definitely enough talent from the mids to keep us up, it’s whether he can fix the problems at the back and whether we can stay afloat long enough to get some defensive reinforcements in the January window.
