Both Manchester clubs are a way off the mark at moment.

they are both run really well off the field. Smart owners and their technical directors buy well.

The gap between the big 4 and the rest isn't as big nowadays.

    The curse is dead.

He's two games out of fifth, which is about as good as Tottenham can consider themselves.

Possibly he gets the Carabao Cup and if that fails he's out, even if he does claw back a few spots on the Premier League table. Premier League is just as silly with media and fan expectations as the AFL. There's twenty teams FFS and finishing in the top five or six with a playing list that isn't first rate is actually a great effort.

I really like the fact he's calling out the bullshit as well. He knows he can get a contract elsewhere in another league and have a crack at winning titles if he gets sacked. He's not housetrained, and he reminds me of Beveridge in that way.

On that point, some of us forget Beveridge is one of the only coaches who doesn't have to find another head coach role or go into the the media he despises if he wants to earn multiple six figures once his time's up. He's technically skilled and has lead teams in non-football vocations before he'd coached at the top level. Think it explains a lot of his attitude towards different things.

Ange is going well. When you have Bentancur, Richarlson, Romero,Van der Ven,, Davies, Vicario all out through injury, 4 of whom would start, its going to be tough.

It's the equivalent of L Jones, Buku, JOD, Dureya, JUH, Treloar, Garcia, Williams, JJ, etc being out. The fact we are 2 or 3 games out of he Europen spots at Christmas is pretty good.

Yeah he mentioned the other night after the Carabao Cup quarters that he's got ten or so out and just can't afford any more of that. A bit like Newcastle last year you can only do so much if your squad is cooked mid-season.

So some clubs are finding other ways to combat the big spending clubs? Seems like there are a few clubs running like a strict and disciplined business

There’s talent there but it’s been such a mess of a season I struggle to see them finding another 25 points or so to stay up. They leak goals like nobody’s business and are so reliant on Cunha for anything good to happen. Maybe Pereira can turn it around though.

It's not about the injuries though it's about the game plan.

You can't be cut open like that and do nothing about it at that level.

No matter the cattle on the park it was borderline embarrassing to be 1-5 on 60 minutes; I'm really surprised they didn't cop 8 or 9.

I know Aussies love Ange and all however going balls to the wall against the best side with all those injuries makes it even worse.

Yeah, clubs are getting a lot smarter. The best way to make money is to buy smart and develop for a big club to swoop in. Brighton probably started this way of thinking. The key is having the right data guys to be able to spot these footballers, moneyball stuff I guess.

But in saying that there is so much money now in England that a club like Bournemouth can offer larger wages than someone like Milan. It is pretty much the superleague.

Brighton even developed managers for others to take

Bruno Fernandes does Wolves a favour with a stupid 2nd yellow and we’re on a 2 game win streak and out of the bottom 3. An Olympico from Cunha the highlight of a reasonably dull game.

Man City down to 7th. Liverpool 7 points and a game clear on top. Things looking troubling for Ange.

Amorim’s replacement at Sporting has already been sacked after 6 weeks.

Duran's red was dumb as shite, wasn't it. Would have been a decent contest 11 vs. 11.

Toon are in good form and have gone to next year about where I'd hoped they'd be. Need to keep stringing them together.

Was nasty, studs could've easily dragged along Schar's back.
