Must admit a little surprised at this outcome, yes the penalties are harsh and quite strong but I was expecting life bans. This is a massive blight on the NFL and I thought the commission would come down on these guys a lot stronger!

      Harsher?

Those penalties are completely over the top...coach suspended for a year, General Manager suspended...can you imagine if that happened in the AFL??
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Dangerous territory, really thought the NFLwould come down extremely strong. Even if the current penalty is harsh I see this as major blight on the reputation of the game.

49er's into the Super Bowl against the Ravens.

            Re: NFL Discussion

My father was a die hard Niners fan, as he grew up in the Bay Area in the 40s to the early 70s. As a result I've been a fan since as far back as i an remember. I remember his reactions in 81, when they beat the Bengals to win their first Super Bowl.

I'm planning on taking the day off work to watch the game.

Even though I find the current incarnation of the Niners to be not as likeable as the earlier champion Niner teams from the 80s and 90s I'll still be supporting them on the day.

The intrigue of both teams Head Coach being brothers adds another dimension to the contest.
Whilst the Niners might be favourites, I would not be surprised if the Ravens were to win. Flacco has had an excellent play-offs and has shaken some of the tags about his ability to deliver in clutch situations.whilst Kaepernick for the Niners although possessing unique double threat capabilities is still a very inexperienced QB.

Thread hasn't really been active this year but looking like a killer Super Bowl match-up. Awesome offence against and awesome defence. Tend to lean toward the Seahawks as I think they'll be able to score against the Broncos D but it's a real line ball match up.

Anyone got any plans to watch it anywhere?

No way back at all now. This game has pretty much been over since halfway through the first quarter.

A very one sided Superbowl. Was last year a closer one.

Baltimore beat San Fran by 3 points after leading by 15 points at halftime last year.

Thanks for that Twodogs as you can gather I'm not a big NFL follower.

I follow it by proxy. My son is a fan so I have to know stuff and I really don't mind watching any sports.

Huge Superbowl game today. I know a few people who are taking the day off work.

How closely will you be monitoring the scores today?
