20/20 KFC Big Bash

I have to admit I really enjoyed this format last season, more so that the 50 over one dayers, both domestic & international.

Each state is permitted 2 international, which I think really ads to the competition, with Umar Gul & Sohail Tanvir dong well last season for WA & SA respectively.

There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with the winners/runners up heading off to play for the riches on offer in India.

So far Victoria have received 2 set backs with firstly Murali signing & then not being available & likewise Sohail Tanvir.

So, which internationals have signed on?

Can add Ross Taylor to the Vic list. Slater on channel 9 said he signed on the 24th

I know someone on this board doesn't like us playing internationals but I am rapt with the signing of Ross Taylor. Him being one of my favourite players aside, I thought we needed a batsman ahead of a bowler.

My Vics XI would be:
Hodge
Wade
White
Hussey
Taylor
Bravo
Hastings
McDonald
McKay
Holland
Nannes

Wade has been a brute with the bat in the FRC this season and I really like his ability to smash from the get go. He is a bit of a free wicket as well, just let him go nuts. Hodge has an awesome record as a T20 opener, one of the best in the world.

White, Hussey and Taylor are world class T20 bats.

Bravo, Hastings and McDonald give us quality all-round depth.

McKay and Nannes give us a quality pace attack and Holland is an economical spinner.

We have batting depth with McDonald coming in at 8 and even McKay at 9. There is a good mix of solid and aggressive bats.

We also have good depth with Nannes, McKay, Bravo, McDonald, Hastings and Holland. Even Hussey is decent is a decent option with the ball in T20.

I am really looking forward to the Big Bash, great to have semi-decent crowds and atmosphere at domestic cricket games.

Blizzard, Quiney and Harwood would be great emergencies.

Given that we will play the imports drop Finch for Bravo and Taylor for Rogers. Holland would then be in front of J.Pattison.

It's raining in Brisbane and the forecast doesn't look good. Apparently it's likely the game will be abandoned. Pretty disappointing news. I am a fan of test cricket but must say I absolutely love the T20, imports and all.

This team bats all the way down to ten and has 7 or 8 quality bowling options. Gonna be hard to beat, Taylor and Bravo are two very good inclusions for mine.

I think 157 is a good score on a deck that should suit our pace and seam attack.
